Loosing (or gaining) is mostly about diet. What does your diet (cals and macros) look like? Also you might want to check out the sticky 'guide to...' for some great info on diets.

Posted by: Vieope

Maybe muscles replaced fat in your legs and still is the same size.

Posted by: SANDYSANDY

i think that s what is , but my weight hasn't change

Posted by: SANDYSANDY

i have been cutting down in my carbs and now eat 6 times a day, but i do admit i have been eating better and healthier in the last month or so .

Posted by: SANDYSANDY

if your working out first thing in the am, does this mean lifting or cardio? If lifting, you need to have some food in you, say a protein of some kind.

What exactly are the sizes of servings you are having with your meals?
Are your goals to lose bf only or to compete? Where exactly are your carbs besides the bread, cereal or barley?

Need more info as per Jodie's questions.

You can track your diet at www.fitday.com and see how it turns out. info for additional items can be got from www.nutritiondata.com or http://www.calorieking.com/. If you havent kept a close eye on your cals and macros, this can be quite an eyeopener.

thank u for responding.
circuit traing am,and i do weights pm
my goals are to lose bf,to be healthy and to be fit.

-brown rice, oatmeal, and couscous i think thats about it
i also take flaxseed oil everyday. sometimes fish oil

Posted by: JLB001

circuit..as in machine's? or cardio? Lifting twice a day is over kill if your doing machines then going back and hitting free weights.

if you have the brown rice, oats, etc...where int he diet are those? They are not listed above.

I perhaps mistook this to mean you weren't coming back.

I thought I had run you off or something, but gald I didn't.

Posted by: BulkMeUp

Sandy, what Jodie is asking is to be more specific with your info.

e.g. a)specify your meals, meal by meal with cals and macros breakup as well as the total cals and macros. b)specify your training clearly .. how long is a session?.. what exactly do you do in a session? .. how many times a week do you do it? .. how long have you been doing it for?

Take some time and form a post to clearly explain this and then we can give you a clear response as to how to proceed.

have you ever use a detox ? eg smart cleanse, it suppose to clean your liver, heart, colon, skin and your organs

Ok..you silly boys stop. What he is meaning is that you may not be eatting enough, which is putting your body in starvation mode. When it gets there, it hold onto everything you are trying to get rid of. basically not eatting enough of the right stuff.

We'll (minus the goofy boys) will wait til you can do a better post on foods you do eat, (ozs of meat, carbs, etc., even it is measured in cups will work too).
Marcos are the amounts of food you take in broken down into percentages. Fitday.com is a great way to figure that one out.

Curves is a nice beginning program, I'm just not too familiar with it, so I will check out the link. I know they do everything in a timed circuit type setting. I don't think that is so much the issue as much as the diet is.

Macros are 'Macronutrients', namely Protein, Carbs (Carbohydrates) and Fats.

The diet isn't too bad, I would suggest 1/2 the spud and maybe half the rice and not to fry the egg. I do see other areas, but if your not doing a comp, shouldn't be a big issue. You want to be having protien of at least 4 to 5 oz (25 grams) with each meal, try to space your meals out equally during the time your awake. Say every three hours. Having just a yogurt doesn't mean that is a meal. Actaully have protien, veggies and if before 3pm carbs. What this does with the meal spaced equally is speeds up your metabo. Myself I cut carbs out after 3pm, but that is just me. What types of cardio do you do? Sounds like your shaped like me, more in the rear than we would like. I find I get the best results with the stairstepper, treadmill and the stairmill. Also do not be scared to use the leg press, squats etc in the gym, they are our friend.

Jodie
just curious ,what other areas do u also see. and by eating that many cal do u think i ll be able to lose bf , weight and go down 2dress sizes

I'm currant 29 i want be a 27 pant size

Posted by: JLB001

I'm naturally heavy in the legs and butt (I have my Mom to thank for this). I do squats, leg presses, stepmill , stair stepper, sprinting etc. I find its some of the only things that make my legs smaller.

I'll have to post more tomorrow since my Mom is here visiting.

looks like your doing great so far sandy, listen to jodie. all the things you want to do have to do with what you eat, and it looks like a well balanced diet already, just a few things that you could improve on that will make the difference for you. and its great that your using weights as well, strength training with your legs will get you the tone you want, a lot of people complain about never seeing a difference and all they do is ride a bike for a half hour

oh and welcome to IM

Posted by: SANDYSANDY

THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR ADVICE. I REALLY REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP THANKS AGAIN

Posted by: JLB001

sorry about not getting back in here sooner.

The other things I saw aren't a biggie if your not doing a comp. I would just take out the carb at night and just have the meat and veggies. Also with your yogurt add a lil meat in there, same thing with the breakfast. Maybe a few eggs, but not fried...
