MVP - Steve Nash
- its gotta be Nash IMO. He is playing the best basketball of his career, but more importantly he is the main reason Phoenix can utilize its athleticism in the open floor. They run better than anyone and thats why they win. I also thin Wade and Shaq are great candidates, as is Nowitzki and Duncan as always, but I think Nash deserves it for turning Phoenix into the best team in the league.

Coach of the Year - Nate McMillan
- I think that this is a no brainer. He took the Sonics, who where supposed to be the third worst team in the league, with no signifigant roster changes from their 37-45 season last year and turned them into a 3 seed. They play arugably the best team basketball in the league when they are healthy, No real contest here. D'Antonie has done a great job with the Suns , but has had Nash join this year, Miami with the addition of Shaq to a team that already went far into the playoffs last year with a bright young star in Wade as well can't beat out McMillan. Scott Skiles has done a great job as well as George Karl, but he hasn't been around long enough to win it.

6th Man - Well I am gonna say its gotta go to Antonio Daniels of Seattle but I am sure people will disagree. If you have watched what he has done for the Sonics this year though you would know. Stackhouse is also a good condidate although he is basically a starter in Dallas. Ricky Davis in Boston is also a great candidate as well.

Rookie of the Year - Well its a toss up between Okafor and Ben Gordon, but I give it to Okafor, he has had so many double doubles this season and has played great. It really could go to either one though.

Most Improved Player - I go with Gilbert Arenas. He has always been a good player, but this year he has stepped up to an all star level and finally gets the attention he deserves in Washington. Him and Jamison have really made the difference for the Wizards.

Best Bench - Its a toss up between Seattle and Dallas, but I gove it to Seattle (shocking right!). At least when they were healthy that bench of theirs was their greatest asset with Nick Collison playing great, Radmonovic doin his thing and Antonio Daniels and Danny Fortson, and as of late Damien Wilkins stepping up for the injured Rashard Lewis. They have such a deep bench with so many players that step up and do their job, no matter what it is.

Best Defensive Team San Antonio has this locked up really. They are so tough on the permeter with Bruce Bowen who is a defensive player candidate imo, and Duncan ('nuff said). Memphis is close as well, they play great team defense and Swift can block shots with the best of 'em. Detroit is also good but under performing imo.

Defensive Player of the Year - This could go so many ways, Iverson has had a great year defensively, second in the league in steals. Larry Hughes is playing great, Bruce Bowen, LeBron James, Marcus Camby stepped it up, Ben Wallace, its really to tough to call.

Offensive Player of the Year - Hands down goes to Allen Iverson, he's gonna finish with over 30 a game, unbelievable. He is just unstoppable and is so consistent, game in and game out.

YAAAAAAAA BUDDY WHat up playaaaaaaaaa?
Just got back from FLA and saw your post sittin' all lonely, so i'd figure i'd give my .02....

MVP - I often get this confused, because i'm not sure whether MVP means "best player in the league" or "most valuable to your team".

If it's "Best player", there's no doubt its Garnett.
If it's "Most valuable to your team", my 1st choice would be Shaq or KG, then Lebron, then Nash.

Coach of the Year - Doc Rivers
Found a way to get all his good veterans playing time as well as get his very good developing youngsters time as well. And oh ya, meanwhile won the Atlantic for the 1st time in 13 years.

6th Man - Ben Gordon or Ricky Davis
Both have been dynamite off the bench.

Rookie of the Year - I agree with ya, kid. Okafor or Gordon. Probly go to Okafor cuz he did it all year long.

Most Improved Player - Same team, different guy.... Larry Hughes.
I'll even keep your description... "He has always been a good player, but this year he has stepped up to an all star level and finally gets the attention he deserves in Washington."
Hughes has been NASTY all year when he was healthy. Check out his #'s.

Best Bench - It may sound biases, but i'd hafta say the C's. With Davis, Banks, West and Jefferson coming off the pine, their 2nd team doesn't miss a best when the starters come out.

Best Defensive Team Not really sure.

Defensive Player of the Year - Again, not sure.

Offensive Player of the Year - Man, this is a tough one. As much as i hate to say it cuz i hate the guy, it's prob Iverson, with Lebron right behind him.

Well, good luck with your Sonics. We're both rootin' for alot of GREEN in the playoffs. Hit me with a pm when u get a chance, playa.....

chyeaa boi,.... finally someone responds god dammit. yo MVP is not the best player in the league thou. It means most valuable to your teams success, so even thou Lebron had MVP type numbers, his team missed the playoffs, ya feel me. thats why I pick Nash, b/c his change turned pheonix into the best team in the league.

MVP - Steve Nash
Coach - Nate McMillan
6th man - Ricky Davis
ROY - Emeka Okafor

Posted by: Mithamo

mvp is nash beyond any doubt after that 48 point game. he can do ANYTHING with the basketball.

Coach of the year is nate mcmillan. But i think D'antoni is a close second, the suns running game is like nothing ive ever seen. it destroys the Zone

rookie: dunno. okafor i guess, is iguadala a rookie? also damien wilkins came out of left field at the end of the year and has been huge for the soops.

offensive player: waay too many options hear. probably nash tho. 15pts 11assists during the regular season is insane offensive production, but lebron has this category locked for the next 10 years id bet.

defensive player: the pistons lol and bruce bowen is a fu**ing a**clown but hes crazy good at D

6th man: A.D. is an interseting choice. his numbers are very solid but nothing worth talking about. on the other hand, he shines as an offensive floor general for 20+minutes a game. he's probably my choice... him and ben gordon.

most improved: amare. this guy is gonna be scary in 2 years. scarier i mean
also rashard lewis pulled a pretty dominating post game out of nowhere this year.

GO SONICS

MVP has got to be Koby Bryant!

Posted by: devildog88

I hope everyone knows I was kidding. He is a dweeb and a loser! Pretty good player though.

Posted by: Mithamo

Kobe bryant is a talent sucking leach. ive never seen a team fall apart so gloriously.

Posted by: gr81

I hate Bryant. he has a long way to go before he gets the legacy that he wants. I am pretty appauled that McMillan didn't get COTY, I mean just b/c the Suns had the best record, I don't necessarilly know how much coachin went on, more than hey guys, get out and run and shoot the ball as many times as possible..lol. I mean Nate took a roster that was basically unchanged, a team that was supposed to be the worst team in the west, and btw 8 guys in contract years which usually spells stat hunts, and got them to buy into a system of team ball first and foremost. The Suns on the other hand didn't have Q-ball last year, they didn't have Nash last year, and their offense isn't exactly scientific.

another interesting thing I read the other day, in a poll of 200+ NBA players they voted on some things including the most underrated player and the winner was Rashard Lewis, and the best shooter, which was Ray Allen. I of course agree with the Allen vote, but I was kindof shocked at the Lewis thing.. anyways go Supes

Posted by: Mithamo

rashard has rediculous potential too. im a huge fan of him... i remember all the way back to when he was a wet eared rookie, and hes come really far. but when hes facing the basket, hes a pussycat. if he gets a better first step and more upper body strength he will be a 23-26 pts per game player. hes great and can get alot better.

Posted by: gr81

yeah for real. We could sure use his three point shooting now. I defn agree with him needing a first step. Thats the one thing thats weak in his game is his ball handling, which I think is why he doesn't face up well. How much better and more consistent has him three point shooting been this year thou huh, fantastic! I wish he developed more aggressiveness in his game as well. It bothers me that he has games where he just dissapears. He knows it too.. the Sac series was evidence of that, althou maybe he was hurtin more than he lead on..

Posted by: Mithamo

i work on mercer island where rashard lives. i see this guy at the gas station across the street all the time. hes a really nice dude too, never has a big entarage (sp?) and always shakes my hand. but every time he buys a fistfull of swisher sweets.

i hate to make assumptions, but he can afford to smoke a better cigar if he wanted to smoke tabacco. and we're talkin like 5-10 of these per day. nuff said. haha

Don't kids nowadays empty out the insides of cigars and refill them with marijuana and smoke it?

Posted by: MillerMan

Nash is great his only downfall is that he can't play a lick of Defense.

That and the funny hairdo makes him look dirty.

HAHAHA omg awesome

Posted by: min0 lee

I thought that was what you were implying.
I see that all the time now, I guess it masks the smell of weed....I think

Posted by: gr81

no its just a way to get blunted, it has nothing to do with masking anything... lol

Posted by: Mithamo

well, the sonics lost last night to end an amazing season. This proves the importance of a good coach to a basketball team. the sonics were without their 2nd and 3rd best players for near 40pts a game combined, and came an inch away from pushing the allmighty spurs to a fourth game. I was a little ashamed of the sportsmanship or lack of when Duncan hit the floor with an ankle injury. see u at hempfest rashard!!

Posted by: gr81

What a horribly officiated game I must say. I looked it up yesterday btw, and prior to last nights game, the Spurs shot 40 more free throws than Seattle. The Spurs are the most babied team in the league. Anytime Ginobili drives and starts flopping and flayling around he gets a call without question, Duncan gets any call he wants. It was clear the refs had a huge say in which way this series went and yesterday was no exception. With that being said, I will give credit where credit is due, congratulations San Antonio on the series . It was a close series for sure. Its dissapointing thou to say the least. Poppovich said it best when he said they didn't win the series, they escaped it..

coach of the year shoulda been Jordan, coach of the Wizards

Posted by: gr81

Jordan doesn't coach Wizards, is this a joke

Posted by: CaptainDeadlift

Eddie Jordan. Not a joke.
