Hi guys,

can someone post a link to how to perform dead-lifts in the correct way, also I have seen a number of gym members performing dead-lifts with no shoes on what is the benefit of this? Thanks

Flat feet with no bouncy cushioned support. Just get some Chuck Taylors or Otomix shoes.

Footwear, btw.

I would tell them their feet stink and they should put their shoes back on.

some of the bigger guys wear converse old schools for squating because when you have a little bit of a heal it can change the preformance of your squats so go flat healed. Ive also seen a picture of arnold squating with no shoes on.

Those would be the Chuck Taylors, cheap, popular for being effective.

for deadlifts the main objective is to for a shorter distance to pull, minimal but I guess for some people it makes a difference. More of a mental benefit than anything. It isnt b/c shoes are bad support or anything

Soft squishy shoes are a negative thing in that case, same with shrugs. My shoes bounce.

The budget shoe of choice for powerlifters is the Chuck Taylor Converse shoe.

I have gone as high as 600 for shrugs and my shoe was bending and squishing in so many places I'm probably lucky I didn't fall over or tweak my back. Most street shoes suck for big lifting. Just like your dexterity going downhill with thick gloves, the more crap you have around your foot the less in touch with the ground feedback you will be. Or like power steering in a race car, you want feedback and many shoes will hurt that. And like I said mine were seriously squishy with that kind of weight.

I wore flat sports sandals. Worked great for me and my ankle never roled or anything.
