That made me realize how vulnerable we are, and that was with 3 guys spotting him.

it really wasnt the spotters fault, that guy dropped the weight the second he lifted it, fell on his neck... he hadnt even gotten it over his chest..clearly not good enough grip.

Yea, here's one of the main reasons why I'm scared of maxing out now....

I used to do it in a weekly/biweekly basis, now I max out maybe once ever 4-5 months....

As I posted in the other thread, Steve Wong was not only fine but he benched 805 later that same day.

Sorry for the repost.
That guy has a set of steel balls to come back and press again.

Just about anyone that competes has some kind of drive that makes them want it more than a layperson would understand.

It may not have hurt that much I know 405 dropping on me would freak me out, but 225 or so nearly as big of a deal. 600 of course would probably put me out for awhile, because I am not used to that kind of weight. I dont rest pause it, or even look at it. You should be able to take near your max weight though and let it sit on your chest for a pause, then press it. So something a bit under that, if it dropped on you probably wouldn't be too terrible so long as it landed in a lucky spot.
