p/rr/s split

Im sure this has been asked before, however I did a quick search and did not find anything specific.

I have read through the sticky at the top and beleive I grasp the basics, gopro even posted his favorite split which was

chest/bis/forearms/abs
quads/hams/calves
lats/lowback/abs
delts/traps/tris

The pro of this is, that you are never working out more than twice a row in a given week, the con is you have to be in the gym for ATLEAST an hour and 15-30 minutes to get all those body parts into one day with the p/rr/s exercizes.

My question is, what if you split it up into one muscle group a workout?

The con is, you have to work out three days in a row for a stretch so you are getting one less day of rest, but the pro is, you can easily get the workout done in under 45 minutes with enough intensity, so you are in and out of the gym quickly.

Here is an example split that I want to try.

Monday - Back
Tuesday - Chest
wednesday - LEGS
Thursday - REST
Friday - Bi's / Tri's
Saturday - Delts
Sunday - Rest

My priorites would be intensity, and finishing the workout in under 45 minutes, wich is going to limit my rest time(wich is a good thing for me )

Should I just go ahead and try this split, or am I setting myself up for failure?

Thankyou for your input.

I prefer to be in the gym just a bit longer, but only 4 days per week. However, if you prefer the 5 day, 3 on 1 off, 2 on 1 off split, then by all means apply P/RR/S to it. I have several clients that prefer this split and I have no problem working with them on it.

Where are your abs ? calves in with legs ? The P/rr/s isn't set in stone so you can alter it to suit you as long as you follow the principals . Unless one of the prrs guru's see something i don't ( which is real easy to happen. LOL ) and tell ya differently I see no reason not to try it. It's the only way you will no for sure if it will work for you or not .

edit: OOPS !!!! The master beat me to it ! LOL There ya go , straight from the man !

Thanks guys.

I was planning on adding calves twice a week in there somewhere, along with abs twice.

I am definatly going to give it a try. I guess I will just have to mess around with the split until I find something that works for me hehe.
