I'm looking for a program to use for bulk and found this one, it's called "Training for Maximal Size" Here's the link. http://www.t-nation.com/findArticle.do?article=267max2
For those who don't want to read, basically, there are three different four-week "schemes." The exercises stay the same, but the set/rep scheme change. For weeks 1-4 its 5x8-12, weeks 5-8 is 12x4, and weeks 9-12 is 10x6-8. The first four weeks use compund movements in addition to a few sets of isolated movements. The last eight weeks only use compund movements (weeks 9-12 is 2 movements per workout). It's a 3-day split, but it is reccomended you work out as much as possible up to six days a week.
The only thing I was wondering about was for Weeks 5-8 the Set/Rep Scheme seems like alot - its 12 sets of 4 reps per exercise (there's 2 exercises) or maybe I am reading it wrong, I'm not sure. What do you guys think? I'm still a newb to all this stuff so I don't really know, it just seemed like a stretch from the traditional newbie workout i've always done (3x10 for everything).
Anyways, do you think I'd have any success with this? Has anyone tried anything similar?

Ten sets of 6-8 reps seems like a lot to me for size. It should probably be something like 3 sets of 5 or 5 sets of 5 with higher weight and more intensity. Also, why would they recommend working out six days a week? That seems like the best way to overtrain to me, especially when someone is new to working out and may become too enthusiastic.
Basically if you want a good beginner's workout, look around these forums. Poke around in some online journals, ask questions about exercises and form, reps and sets, anything you want. Just look around and assimilate others' workouts and create your own using bits and pieces of everything else. There's really no best beginner's workout, and I would personally just use what others on here have used with success and compile it with the appropriate weight, reps and sets like I did when I was just starting. Most of your questions about form can be answered at the following site: http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html.
