Im a die hard cubs fan and cant wait for todays Maddux v Clemens matchup.
Clemens is the better pitcher now and I think thats obvious. I think this could be explained by one look at their physiques. Its obvious Clemens takes better care of himself.

I would also say that overall career vs. career Clemens would prally get the nod.

I do feel however that for about 3-4 consecutive years Maddux may have been the greatest pitcher of all time for a certain stretch. Im not exactely sure of his ERA in each of his CY Young years but they, I think, were all under two. I think that for a brief moment Maddux reached a higher point then Clemens ever did.

Whatch u guys think?

It was quite a day for pitching match-ups. Not only Clemens (7 Cy Youngs) vs Maddux (4), but also Randy Johnson (5) vs Roy Halladay (1). Also, there was the game featuring former A's pitchers Mark Mulder (now with St Louis) vs Tim Hudson (Atlanta).

I have always liked Maddux because I'm a Braves fan. The two are totally different style pitchers. Maddux is a finess pitcher that will get you on the corners. He does not have an ultra fast fastball. But he is deadly accurate.
Clemens has strength and will overpower you with his fastballs. Just look at all his stikeouts. I think he holds the AL record. He has been an awesome pitcher and I will hate to see both of these retire.
