slow/fast/large/small

I trying to remember what I heard about this subject. Doing slow reps is suppose produce better results in large muscle groups (I think). Doing quicker reps is better for smaller muscle groups (I think). Can anybody comfirm or refute these claims? Does anyone know why certain muscle groups respond to varying number/speeds of reps?

we all know overload causes hypertrophy.

More reps for such muscle groups such as forearms and calves (since they are designed to endure thousands of contractions everyday) produces a better overload.

Same thing happens with other muscle that dont make so many contractions...less endurance / more recovery time results in less reps.

Also the size of the muscle matters but is second in comparison to the first two points.

I think the only thing that people get out of slow reps is more time in the gym.

I actually do better with slower reps. It depends on the person. I've made my best gains with slower reps. Some people react better to faster reps. It's something you may have to experiment with.
