Saw these in my local supermarket today. Took a quick look at the back stats and it seems pretty decent. Not UBER super good for you, but looks good for one of those once and a while craving times for pizza. But alas, I thought I'd let more experienced eyes take a look and give their opinions.

Here's a link for the whole line-up:

To much shit in those things for me...

Posted by: thajeepster

half your daily intake of sodium in one meal... no thanks.

Posted by: Sh8kin

Bah, I drink enough water to keep my sodium intake in check.

Posted by: LAM

those are too heavlily processed. better to eat them for a cheat meal, etc...

plus pizza can spike serum insulin levels for hours. definetly not a food you want to eat when fat loss is the main goal

What LAM said - WAYYY too many ingredients in that list!

The bold ones are why I wouldn't touch it...

Whole wheat flour is bad for you?

And yeah the Xantham gum is just a low calorie filler.

I try to stay away from all flours if I can.

Xanthum gum is basically a fibre. Great for adding to shakes and protein bar/snack recipes to thicken or improve their texture.

anybody else notice that their peporonni pizza has peporonni, pork and beef in it -

Posted by: Sh8kin

Well, if you're craving pizza, wouldn't it be better to have one of these, instead of a personal-pan pizza at say Pizza Hut?

Emma - the crust is WW bread at this point. I was under the assumption that WW flours and breads are a good source of carbs with a low GI...

Posted by: Stu

all types of flour have a relatively high GI

Posted by: Fitgirl70

Anyone else notice how many times they listed salt in the ingredients?

Why do they do that? It is 4 different kinds of salt or is it the process by which these items are added in order to make this item?

Posted by: Fitgirl70

Ooops...sorry, I guess they would have to list it four times in order to get 1180mg in there!!

Nope.

WW flour is not a good carb source for you. Sure, it is better than other refined flours, but, despite what people think WW bread is not that low in GI, it still has a high GL and it is still void of other nutrients (vitamins, minerals, fibre, protein, fats, water, anti-oxidants etc).

Personally, I stay away from most of these types of products - and I suggest if you are going to go for bread then try to use sprouted or essene breads (these have no flours in them).

Thanks Emma. Is there a particular brand you recommend? (Of Bread)

OLEORESIN OF PAPRIKA
They put pepper spray in the pepperoni? That's an extra process in itself meaning everything in that thing has been processed and re-processed and embalmed.

they have to list the ingredients in it, which means a breakdown of the ingredients of other things used as ingredients (pepperoni which is a mix of things, and the dough which is a mix of thing)

It doesn't really look all that bad for a cheat besides the sodium. Got some protein, and a load of fiber, plus fat which will no doubt lower the GI. If you're cutting, then obviously no. I'm not quite as obsessive as emma of course, though.

This is just a personal thing, but if I were to eat that, I really think i'd regret it after. It would taste good going down sure, but my mouth would hurt for hours after. Damned whole foods have ruined my immunity to junk.
