I know quite a few good jumping excersices to hone technique and all that good stuff. i'd really like to know what i should be focusing on while in the gym though.
i wanna dunk by july 1st, im just able to grab the rim with 1 hand so i figure im about 5-6 inches away, does this seem at all realistic? im 6'1" 165 if it makes a difference.
You guys seem to know your stuff so plz help a brother out.

you would need to asses your current jump and find your weakness to figure out what to work on. If your knees are buckling when you jump (a common mistake), then that is something that needs to be addressed before an actual plyometric program can be implemented to prevent injury. just correcting that problem (or whatever issues you may have) will help you be a better jumper. Also, learning how to land and deal with reactive force can be very beneficial too.

I can dunk and I'm 5'8", its all in the technique, my legs aren't even strong its kind of a weak spot for me but I've just naturally always been able to jump, it's all about the fast twitch muscles and technique, besides weight loss and technique practice, I dont think there is alot you can do to improve your vertical 5-6"
