Reasonable gains or not?

I recently decided to begin a kind of periodized program starting with submaximal weights that is broken into 2 phases, a hypertrophy 10 rep phase and a strength 5 rep phase. Lets use the squat for example. I can do a set of 10 perfect reps with 225. So for my program, I started the hypertrophy phase at 205 for 3 sets of 10. This phase lasts 8 weeks. then I will start the strength phase at, if all goes according to plan, 245 for 3 sets of 5. At the end of the 8 week strength phase, if I go according to plan, I would be at roughly 280 for 3 sets of 5.

So my question is, is a 16 week gain from one set of 225 for 10 reps to 3 sets of 5 reps with 280 an expected gain, or is it too much of a gain or too less of a gain, assuming other training parameters remain the same?

id suggest you just lift and do your phases if youd like, and take it one step at a time. dont try to predict your strength, because there is no point in that. all that matters is what you can lift each time you go into the gym.
