gaugeing your workout

I just wanted to know how everyone else gauged the quality of their workout. is soreness the couple days after a workout a good gauge, lately i havent been getting sore like i was but i changed my routine and i feel im working just as hard.

maybe check your form. Make sure your not taking shortcuts and cheating yourself
out of a full movement
