I read somewhere that in order for your body not to be accustomed to your diet they would raise their calories from carbs. Does this mean to raise the total amount of calories for the day plus increase proteins and fats?

Sounds like a carb cycle I'm doing. Keeping proteins and fats the same, but changing carbs up or down, therefore changing calories.

What r u trying to do? Are you cutting, bulking or what. If your thinking of cutting, then carb cycling is the way to go. Mon 200 grams of carbs, tues 150 gr, wed 100, thurs 50 gr and fri 25 grs. Sat Carb load day with 500-600 carbs. Sunday 50 grams. Mon repeat. Keep Proteins high. Hope this helps.
I personally keep the body guessing. Workout days I have 4500 cal's with 500 gr of carbs keeping fats low. Off days which is two I keep cal's around 3500, low carbs around 200 with higher fats...EFA's, keeping protein high...Works for me

I am not sure I understand exactly what you mean? Are you asking about having a 'high carb day' where you raise your carbs for a day (or two) to 'carb load' whilst dieting? Like a 'refeed'?

If you are talking about a carb load then it usually depends on the type of diet you are doing. If you are doing an isocaloric carb cycle type diet then your cals may stay the same but your levels of fats and carbs will alter (protein is constant). so on your higher carb days you do lower fats and on your lower carb days you do higher fats.

If you are doing a calorie cycling approach as well then your total calories would increase (to a variable degree - depending, once again, on how exactly you were cycling) and then you would lower fats (carb loads you want low fat). Protein may say constant or may decrease/increase depending on what level it was at for the rest of the time. Usually it stays about the same.

Thanks emma That really helped me out.
