To cut or not to cut? :-(

Ok, so I finally went from 155 to about 174. Gaining weight has never been that easy for me, it went REALLY well. I want another 10+lbs of lean muscle weight, but at the same time, I like looking lean. I CAN'T talk myself into cutting. I don't mind putting gains aside for a little while to cut up... I am just too afraid of LOSING muscle.

What do you guys think I should do... and what body fat%, if you were to guess, would you think I have in this attached pic?

I don't think you should cut nor bulk

hard to tell from 1 pic especially w/o seeing the legs. how tall are you ? I would just continue to work on the diet and slowly upping the cals and focusing on compound movements.

I agree.

From that pic it looks to me like you don't have much to cut right now! Keep working on your program and give it time.

Bump.

Eat clean, train hard and get back to the basics - if you get the balance right your body will clean itself up and you don't have to worry about the 'cutting' thing.

Well first of all, I think you look great man. I say keep doing what you're doing. Just keep the diet in check and you'll get to where you want to be.

Use some juice, get huge, then cut.

Just kidding. But if I were you, I'd put on more size first.

Here's a couple back shots. I'm really not very big... because I am only 174 @ 6' 1". I've had alot more trouble gaining weight now that school is out for summer. Even eating FAR from clean at school (only way possible there) I gained alot and stayed about as lean as I am in these pics. Now trying to eat clean makes it hard to get all my cals because of all the conflicts with my schedule, and sometimes I am working up to as many as 4 days a week with a neighbor, where I will be outside for 10+ hours at a time and only get at MOST 2000 cals on those days. REALLY SUCKS.

Anyway... enough complaining from me for now... here's some pics..

Ha ha... Good question. Personally, if I were him, I'd bulk a lot more before thinking about cutting. Whether to juice or not, well, that depends on lots of things, obviously.

Take a baggie of oats, some long-life skim milk, some bananas and a shaker with a few scoops of PP in it then just snack on these during the day. Quick and easy.

or snack on nuts (cashews and almonds are my fav.). they are super calorie dense.

1- BFD!!! in 1995 before I started lifting I was 6'0 / 150... I broke 200 in 1998

2- There is no other way to eat... the easiest way to gain is to pack on simple things like chicken, tuna, rice, etc - that stuff is all good... Lemme guess... some mystical force in the universe is dragging you into McDonalds everyday??

3- Dial 1-800-WAA-AAAA!
I always work 9hr days and sometimes have to do shit like 14-16hr days, and weekends... Bring your food to work!!

Sorry... I don't want to be a huge dick, but this is the life you have chosen if you want to improve... It's not easy sometimes

Yeah I know, and I've only been at that job for a week now . I did chest and triceps tonight... I repped 205 on bench for 5 reps, after only being able to knock out 195 for 4 reps LAST WEEK... so at this point, my gains are not suffering, so I'll keep packing down the food.

What I worry about a little more, is that I've done some really heavy lifting and stuff with this job, and my shoulders are just ACHING. I've had rotator issues in the past. I don't think I ever tore anything completely, just gets irritated. I don't know.
