I noticed that people from England donīt eat the whole fish in a plate, are you guys like that too? Do you only eat fish steaks ? Yesterday I was watching a tv show and a woman complained about a person that cooked the fish with the eye, you never tried to eat a fish eye either?

I have been to many gourmet resturants that cook and serve the fish whole but I fail to see the purpose of eating a fish eye as it holds no nutritional value.

Never thought of it that way. It is quite tasty if it is well prepared. Fish eye I mean. If you find the brain there, the taste is quite unique too.

My grandfather (the only one in my family i knew who did this) loved to eat the fish head. He loved pick and suck on it just as most others would love to pick and suck on a chicken bone!

I have had whole fish servered up quite a few times but it usually depeneds on the type of fish i think, i guess some people don't find it so appertising having there meal staring back at them while they eat. The head is full of bones anyway, why would you want to eat it?

2nd that. It would freak me out.
I'm not a vegetarian by any means, but I'd reather not think that what I'm eating use to be alive.

i'm from a part of maine where you are pactically born fishing. lesson 1 step 1 in cleaning a fish is cut off it's head. it's tradionally a waste part of the fish here and the times i've encountered fish head still attatched in restaurants it's been not so appetizing, be like eating a steak with the cows head on your dish or his hoof.
