A 'normal' person may have 6 or more slices a day (some toast for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and a few slices at dinner too)... But having that much is not the healthiest way to eat a carb source. Bread is basically empty carbs - it has none of the other benefits of natural sources of carbs. It has very little fibre, water, vitamins, minerals... it does not really 'fill you up' and it leaves you hungry soon after you finish. I would certainly not eat 'brown bread' - this is just white bread with added colouring... Whole wheat bread is not much better either (contrary to popular belief). If you do want to eat some bread try to eat something like a sprouted bread, essene bread or pumpernickel bread. These are your healthiest options. I would also try to limit it to 2 slices a day. |
