Hey everyone, I am new to the board so I thought I would drop a quick hello. I am 27, 5'9, 215 lbs, former Marine. I got out of the Military just over a year ago and packed on some extra pounds by not exercising as much and eating bad foods. Quitting smoking added a few more pounds.
Well now its time to lose them again. I just moved to a new area, joined a great brand new gym, and have been working out religiously 5-6 days a week. It feels great getting back into shape. I know it wont come overnight, but in just the 3 weeks of this, my pants and shirts already fit better.
Anyway, right not I am doing about 1 1/4 hours of weight lifting a night + 35-60 minutes of cardio a night. My diet is on point with the caloric intake I need to lose, and I am motivated as hell.

Welcome, congrats on quitting smoking.
BTW, I think an 1 1/4 hr of weights + 35-60mins cardio 5 to 6 times a week might be over doing it.
Anyway, best of luck.

I am starting to see that too, now that I am researching this site. It looks like the best way to get back into shape is done through nutrition. Cardio and weight training certainly help, but I need to focus more attention to the food I ingest.
Thanks for the welcome guys.

This is probably the most over-asked question on here, but does anyone want to help with a routine. I am doing the Body-for-Life for the nutrition side of it. So far so good, no cheating. I am trying to slim up first, then I will worry about gaining mass. Your help is appreciated guys!
