Arm Training Poll

Hi everyone,

Just seeing what everyone suggests for arm training. I've tried every way listed but not training them at all. Right now I'm prioritizing them on their own day at the start of the week, but will be changing that in a month or so. Just wondering who suggests doing bis after chest or shoulders, or pre-exhausted after back. (and vice versa with tris).

Thanks.

For me it depends on time. When my schedule was free (before marriage and kids), I would do arms on its own day. Now that I don't have any time, I do bis with back and tris with chest. This way I get the benefits of preexhausting the muscle and thus am able to reduce the number of sets.

Yeah, time's important for sure

Man, tried to add a poll and it doesn't seem to want to work. Screw it

forget that arm day crap. triceps with chest and biceps with back. do an arm day once in a month or something for fun or a change if it tickles your juevos. ive probably done an 'arm' day about 4 times in my life.

Ah, but it's so much fun!.....just from time constraints I don't think I could keep it up anyway. The rest of my 4 day split suffers...

As of right now they have their own days but if they are not i usually like to go Chest/Bicep and Back/Tricep. im not too big of a fan of the whole pre-exhausting thing, but thats just me.

I don't train arms directly at all.

I train bis for 5 sets and tris for 5 sets and they are supplemented somewhere during the week depending on the routine I am doing. Ive never done "arms" on their own day.

bi's with back and tri's with chest. Push/Pull/Leg split

Posted by: BiggerNstronger

Right now I do bi's with back, but I do tri's seperate from my chest day (which does hit the tri's some) so I can work them more. This has helped my overall arm growth quite a bit. I have never done just an arm day by itself.

90% of arm growth comes from big power movements....ie bench and incline, rows and pull ups..............direct arm work is just an after thought.

p-funk, no arms directly, no calves....whats the secret....cmon..! share.

I just do compound movements. I shouldn't say never for arms. Very rarely you may see me do a set of curls or pressdowns (we are talking once a month or once every two months here). I don't waste my time with those exercises. I would rather press or row. I haven't done flyes in about a year either.

Dr. E has got it right there.

Chest/biceps and shoulders/triceps

I do a set of curls like once every 2 weeks or so.

This is interesting. My arm growth seems to have hit a standstill over the last 6 months or so. And short of NOT training them, I've pretty much tried everything lately. I think I'll go to a push pull routine, and do minimal amounts of direct arm work....see how that goes.

Don't be afraid. Try ZERO direct arm work.

You're right...at this point, i don't see that i really have anything to lose. I don't feel like I'm gaining size...strength perhaps...size no.

We'll see what happens.

If you expect to gain size I expect you are gaining weight, yes?

I do triceps on chest day, and biceps on a day along with calves, abs etc I dont do them on back day because back day is so long.
