Salmonella Scare...

Well Sunday night at 7:30pm I had a grilled chicken wrap right after my mom made some chicken. The chicken was fine (white inside) but I had washed my hands and then ate the wrap. My mom didnt wash off the sink handle yet, and I touched it right before I ate the wrap with my hands. Ever since I've been scared to death I might get it. Its been about 48 hours so far since the incident and no severe symptoms, except I feel a stomach ache since yesterday.

I think the possibility of the stomach ache is because im soo worried, and almost giving myself a stomach ache. When will I know if I actually didn't get anything, and has anyone had it before? Was I really at risk? Usually my mom makes sure to wipe everything down, but I was in a rush and grabbed it as she was finishing. I feel stomach pains now but nothing serious, and they might be caused from myself.

I've went to the bathroom today, and no diarehea. Can anyone please give me some insight?

Im like seriously obsessing over this and can't stop thinking about it all day. I just keep waiting to get sick. I do have hard stomach pain like i said...

I'm always worried about things like that myself. I have heard that food poisoning hits you real fast if you get it. Being that it is 48 hours later, I am sure you are fine. I would stop worrying if I were you.

I never use to worry/care now that I've read various articles online, I think I've gotten OCD even. My stomach still hurts, but thats all felt fine today other then that. When can I consider myself ok?

Well I am no expert on the matter, but from what I know you will get sick in the first few hours ( 2 or 3...even sooner ) for bad cases. Mild cases may make you sick to your stomach for a few days. If you have eaten since and not thrown up, then I will say you are fine. The only time I have gotten sick from food, I started throwing up violently an hour and a half after I ate, and continued to throw up the next day. I couldn't eat for 2 solid days. Most people with a bad case of food poisoning have SEVERE stomach pains, and vomit profusely.

You are this worried from just touching the sink handle? You gotta stop being such a pussy. Didn't you post a thread exactly like this a few weeks ago? Imo you need to see a psychiatrist asap to get over this paranoia of salmonella/chicken/whatever you have going on.

touching a sink handle that has been touched by raw chicken handling person is just as bad as eating raw chicken...

im sorry i guess real men like to get salmonella?

bro, don't worry about it, if you got samonella, you'd know it by now.Don't stress yourself out over things like that. Stress raises cortisol, which is bad for muscle building.

a genuine concern, but it may make you feel better to know that we "have food poisoning" more often than we realize, but ususally they are such minor cases that we are able to fend them off before any real side effects show. serious food poisoning would show itself by now. you're fine. now go wash your hands.

ya man ur fine dont stree ur self bout these kinds of things all the time its not healthy , i have a buddy who used to drik egg yolks and the whites why i have not a clue and wouldnt get sick the stomach pain is from u stressing so much

I think you are worring too much. That is what is bothering your stomach. I would assume anything major would have happend within the first 24hrs.

Okay, that was uncalled for, I am sorry. Dont worry, you'll be fine, Ive done much worse and not gotten sick, like, way badly undercooking chicken, then eating it, etc.

I eat old crap that's been laying around for days all the time. Do I get sick! You bet. But it all comes out in the end, great system flusher.
