As some of you may know I work as a club promoter at night on the weekends...Funny easy job with lots of perks!

Anyways I've been doing it for 3 months, and I haven't drank ever. It's actually pretty hard not to considering we get free drinks, etc and most people are drunk.

Well last night I gave it to 1 drink, everyone was like begging me so i said fine. That 1 drink turned into about 3 strong drinks. I was pretty drunk last night.

I had the best arm workout yesterday before I went out...Was my arm workout a waste?

alcohol isnt that bad! it will affect growth but i would have not thought that drastically!

3 strong drinks!! whoa steady on!! you'll be an alcoholic if you carry on at that rate

I'm sooo guilty right now. I finially got to 7% Bf where I want to be and I started to clean slowww bulk. I always turn it down, but I just kinda gave in last night

I mean was my arm workout totally wasted? Will they still grow from yesterdays workout? I just feel like I wasted my time since I got wasted las night

Any serious bodybuilders here ever get their buzz on? I'm not worried about the extra calories because I'm back on key today with my diet, just worried about other effects. I hear soo many bad things about alcohol and catabolism. I'm soo pissed right now I dont even know what to do. I had the BEST arm workout yesterday afternoon, and then I drink all night

ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR anyone have any insight?

I binge drink when i do so i try and avoid going out to pubs/clubs these days.

Used to get totally pissed 2 nights a week.

But bodybuilding = sacrifice

I do love binge drinking...i sometimes can't help myself even when in the middle of a routine

The main negative about drinking is that it will affect your strength levels the next day and will also mess up your eating pattern and your sleep pattern also. These are the main draw backs of drinking.

Rod do not worry, one night of fun will mean nothing in the long-run and in fact it will probably be better for you to give yourself a break from training and relax the mind a bit.

You are worrying over nothing.

You say you had a arm workout before going out - I have a few times in the past done heavy squats and then gone out and got hammered. Then on the dance floor all night as my cardio, haha.

Think of it like this - doing a workout is better than you doing nothing at all.

Well I'm making a contract with myself. I will not drink again til 9/2/06, 1 year from last night.

I'm just asking was my arm workout done yesterday pointless?

No, it was not pointless - the muscle was still stimulated and broken down - Just that since drinking it will take a little longer to repair itself.

Simple as that!

I drink every so often. I don't see any problem with doing it as long as it's not all the time. I made good gains this summer on my bulk while boozing pretty excessively and while not on the strictest diet, and I'm doing okay on my cut right now boozing about once a week (and all next weekend for the Iowa-Iowa State game). Sure it will inhibit your gains, but your physique isn't everything. Have fun while you're still young.

Also, I agree with MuscleMan about booze messing up your next day workout. I find that it's hard to workout the night after heavy drinking. So that is another way booze may inhibit your gains. It's all self-control and choice really.

What type of foods do you eat when on a ''clean slow bulk''?????would really appreciate your help!!

Posted by: CowPimp

Not a waste at all. Drinking sometimes isn't going to kill your gains. 3 drinks isn't anything to worry about.
