Hey wassup guys? I would like to try and bring homemade protein bars to school. I just want to make one and see if i like it, and if it holds up in my backpack all day.

Can I make one like this?

1/2 cup oats
1 scoop ON whey
1 tbsp natural pb

So far:

23g carbs
24g protein
8g fat

370 cal

What else do I need? What makes it turn into a dough? And can I just freeze it and take it to school on ice in my bag? Or just refrigerate it? Thanks in advance

Ummm... something to hold it all together would be beneficial! That wll just turn into a big sticky mess and, even if you freeze it, as soon as stays in your back pack for a little while it will become mush again.

There are 'no bake' recipes for bars around
(eg:

But, personally, I would cook the bar - it will last longer, be more portable and it does not alter the nutritional profile at all.

Other things you might want to think about adding are things like applesauce (no added sugar) or mashed fruit (like banana), egg-whites (for binding) and you could also add baking powder etc...
