Ive been training since march and ive managed to put on about 20 pounds and yet my arms are still skinny!! is that just cause im tall or what? i thought after gaining that amount of weight that id have reasonable decent arms by now...

anyway im 6ft and i went from 146 pounds to around 166 pounds, i have a friend who i train with and hes only about 154 pounds and hes short and his arms are way bigger and stronger than mine

How much more weight do have to get just to have bigger arms!?

good work on the 20 lb weight gain ! you are still a little light for you height, you should start to fill in around 180-190 lbs if your body is symmetrical

Just takes time................give it 4+ years of natural training...
You have done a good job so far

To give you some idea of what to expect, I'm 6' @ 185 pounds. I'm not sure about my body fat, but it's pretty low. Check out my gallery. All I have is a relaxed front torso shot, but hey, it's something.

Looking good! my body fat isnt too bad at the moment, ive cleaned up my diet a lot...im trying to keep fat gains to a minimum, one day i hope to get my body fat really low with a lot of muscle mass....i guess ive got a lot of work to do

is it possible to increase LBM and get fully ripped at the same time? ive been training for almost a year now and im 22 years old and if its possible to i wouldnt mind trying or is it probably better if i just keep bulking?

Right now, I think it would probably be best for you to bulk, but try and make it a clean bulk if you can (for example, my bulking diet right now consists of this: http://www.ironmagazineforums.com/showthread.php?t=5988). Just keep training smart and eating right and you'll get there, but it does take time and enough rest as well.

Yes, it is just because you are tall. I am 6'6" 240lbs and my arms still look skinny (in fact they don't look much bigger than when I was 190-200lbs). However, I am much stronger and they are in fact bigger. You might want to be around 180lbs at your height. I have gained 80lbs since the day I graduated high school, and it looks like I only gained 30lbs. Lately I have seen the best results by doing chinups during back workout and hammer curls during direct bicep work.

Anyways, good luck!!!

Just bulk. I dont think I have ever seen a 145 pound 6 foot dude. Just keep on training and your arms a good size around 200pounds

Dude I'm 6'2" and been as high as 268 and still felt my arms were skinny, good luck!

215 pounds or so is ok at my height, but honestly to feel "big" is going to be perspective. For me 21+ inches would be a nice goal, but probably unrealistic naturally without being hugely fat.

i still feel like my arms is small.

It ain't easy, but at least you see that. It sounds like you're willing to commit. If you've already been lifting a year, then you're certainly on the right track.

It is very hard to add any appreciable mass while cutting fat. It is highly possible for a complete newbie to resistance training, but you're past the total newbie stage. I have a feeling at your height, bodyweight, age, and activity level that your body fat is fairly low as is. Most likely if you continue to bulk you'll see the best results. If you can post a picture it would help.

How's your diet? That's going to be the prime factor in determining how much mass you can put on, and what percentage of that mass will be muscle as opposed to fat. Check out this article by Jodi, and read her follow up posts too:

Also feel free to post any training questions for us. Lagging body parts? Looking to increase strength in some areas? On and on... Good luck!
