Ten pin bowling is fucking worse than golf. At least in Oz, our cars turn corners and require a little more skill. Horse racing is pretty fucking terrible as well. Anyone who gets kicks off watching fucking horses running in fucking circles should be fucking shot. It's good when you win money though .

Yeah, big rugby union and rugby league fan. Union is a great game, very skillfull. League is more of a war of attrition than skill. And let's please not get into the Rugby vs. American Football debate

I think Rugby is wayyy tougher, but football takes a little more skill and awareness IMO. I also enjoy watching men 300lbs and more beat hit each other head on. I think that about 135KG...

Ok, well here's my side of it. Being an avid fan of American Football, I know a little.

American athletes are much more specialised. They are trained to do one thing to perfection. Whether it be jump, run fast, hit hard, accelerate etc. Australian athletes have all these skills, but not to a singular level that hte Americans do. In which case, the majority of your athletetes are probably faster, stronger, bigger etc. But the games we play in Australia require more aerobic fitness. We don't play for 10 seconds, then rest for 30 seconds, we play full on for 80 minutes.

Rugby is a tougher game I believe. It takes certain kind of character to dive in with 6 120kg men and get your head stomped (no helmets here) and eyes gouged etc. But as for the skill factor, I know for a fact that we have players here who can punt further than your punters, and we have kickers (who kick conversions) who kick at a better average than your field goal kickers (and we don't get to kick from right in front either).

All in all though, they are two entirely different sports played by entirely different athletes. American athletes would get murdered in league and union and australian athletes would get murdered playing american football. Just the way I see it though...

I heard that on TV the other day and had to use it. In all seriousness, people that don't understand NASCAR don't like it, and don't appreciate it.
It is much more skillful and physically demanding than Bowling, Volleyball, Diving, and Cricket, so it shouldn't be anywhere near the worst.

I would vote Bowling as worst. College football is my favorite.

Tuff poll. I like all of those sports. I had to pick cricket because I never get to see it. I just remember it from the movie "King Ralph". Probably pretty fun to play though. I don't watch NASCAR but I think its a great sport. Bowling is fun too. I love going bowling.

I had a hard time deciding between horse racing and nascar. I finally went with nascar since there is some skill required to stay on the horse when it's running full tilt.

Although I enjoy going bowling once in a while, I don't consider it a sport. As far as I'm concerned, it's a recreation, an activity to be enjoyed with friends (or in my case, when I take the kids).

there is alot of skill involved in racing, maybe not so much athletic ability but its not just who's car is faster. You can have a car twice as fast as anyone elses but its no good if you put it into the wall on the first lap

You're definitely entitled to your opinion. But you obviously don't know anything about NASCAR or auto racing in general for that matter.

Sport is about competition and it isn't ALL about athleticism. In fact, skill is a bigger part of sports in general. All you are doing is making yourself look stupid and doing a fine job at it.

I don't think he knows anything about the English language and grammer either. BTW all the cars go around the same speed. It comes down to the driver, tires and a few other variables.

In the NFL some players get a contract then don't play 100%. In college the players are all fighting for NFL contracts and play 110% all the time. College football has really exciting games. If you watched last Saturday you would have seen some. Its the same with basketball. I prefer college basketball over the NBA.

Yes, they do and I like to watch them race when they are on TV. However, the races are usually not as close and doesn't excite me as much.

No I don't see poker or chess a sport....They are games.

The only reason I posted the things I said is because I find it funny when people say NASCAR is a bad sport because of lack of athletic ability or skill. When in fact, you have to be in great physical condition to drive the car and posess a lot of skill to keep it on the track. Factor in both of those conditions, and the sport is much more demanding than most other sports. And we haven't even mentioned the brain power that goes into the races. Very smart guys behind-the-scenes.

Then again some people just don't like it and rather watch something else.

Because there are a lot of people (mostly MEN) that are into cars. Along with that racing cars. And along with that, years of knowledge and strategy to go 3,4,500 miles as quickly as possible, and risking your life or limb doing it.
Unfortunately, the TV coverage doesn't do it justice, but to be there live can be one of the most exciting experiences you can do (if you are into cars).

You also have to be aware that there are teams competing on the racetrack, so until you realize that, know the drivers and which team they are on, you can't enjoy it much at all.

Good God, when I used to work at a Cadillac Dealer the senior mechanic there just wouldn't shut the fuck up about nascar. I was like who gives a fuck about 3 hours of circles? I love cars but who the fuck wants to see that crap. Why not drag race or rally race. Which isn't even a sport by the way it's a hobby. A sport is something physical. I just wish all those silly litltle fuckers would understand that.
