turkey is awesome, and i like having it often....

i know turke has a large amount of tryptophan, an amino acid that makes you feel sleepy.

so normally what i do is have it, but not too often as much as id like..... makes you tired...

As long as it is breast, skinless and cooked appropriately then turkey is great!

Doesnt turkey have some sleep aid in it?

yeah turkey containts tryptophan but actually a lot of foods do..seafood, chicken, beef, diary. people aren't really affected by the amt. of tryp. If someone is eating on an empty stomach and has a lot of it at once then yes it may, but the feeling most people get at say Thanksgiving is probably more from eating a lot and eating a lot of carbs. when you eat a big meal it causes the body to release more tryp. along w/ melatonin, which both make you tired.
