Here is my idea for a healthy Tuna Fish sandwhich. It's fast to make, which is great.

Carb

2 slices of Whole Grain with flaxseed PEMA bread "made in germany."

95 carlories per slice. 18 carbs per slice.

Protien

1 can of chunk lite sea brand tuna, which is higher quality than the cheap store bought starkist tuna.

150 calories. 34 grams of protien.

Fat

1 1/2 Tbsp Organic Omega 3 SOY Mayonaise with Flaxseed Oil.

150 calories. 17 Grams of fat, 3 of which are saturated.

1 tspn of organic relish for a little flavor.

20 calories.

Total Cals: 510. 40 grams of potien (6 grams from the bread), 20.3 grams of fat, 36 grams of carbs.

What do you think?

Actually not.

The tuna is the most expensive part at 1$ a can or so.
The bread is like 3 dollars a loaf, with 14-16 slices, thats maybe 20 cents a slice. The mayo is like 4 bucks for a good size jar with alot of serving, so maybe 20 cents a serving.

Its more like 1.50$ a sandwhich. This is better than going out and paying 6 bucks for a burger and fries/softdrink.

My advise:
Add vegetables... Lots of them.

I would also be tempted to cut the spread out and use avocado instead... Or at least use half the amount and add in some avocado.

where do you buy that stuff? I wouldn't mind giving that a shot for a meal per day or two....my concern is eating all the tuna and getting all that mercury in my blood....scary shit to me.

From what I have read, chunk lite has much less mercury in it than albacore. By the way I know it's 74 degree's in my apartment without looking at the thermometer.

Is the mercury in Tuna that bad??
Is it not safe to eat canned tuna everyday??
I always eat chicken of the sea tuna. I have a couple of friends who eat it everyday too.
One eats it about 2-3 times a day sometimes, concerned, should we be?

I'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you this. You have approximately 3 days to live...

Don't worry about it. Unless you are a pregnant female it should not be a problem.

But, if you want, simply replace the tuna with chicken or egg whites or another white fish (eg: dory). They are all just as good for you!

I thought mercury is one of those things that builds up in your body over time...and if you get too much it poisons you....For this reason I eat so much chicken its sick!

tuna's so cheap and easy though! Besides I already get plenty of eggs, and I get chicken most of the time too.
