This doesn't make sense...

I am 32, 5' 11" and 217 pounds. I am down from 230. It has been 7 weeks since I started dieting and lifting weights. So I am just a fat ass, weak beginner.

Anyway, I have been on a diet of 1800 calories for the first five weeks where I lost most of the weight. Then because of reading and research, I upped my calories to 1950 which still seemed low from everything I was reading. Since then my weight loss has slowed down but I think I am still losing.

So now I get a book and it suggests 33 to 38 calories per kg of body weight for cutting. Wow, that would put me in at about 3300 calories a day. Way more than I am consuming now.

It also suggests 2.0 grams or protein per kilogram - about 200 grams of protein a day. On my best days, I am currently getting maybe 120 grams of protein.

For carbs it says 4.0 grams per kg - about 400 grams of carbs

And the rest of the calories (should be 20-25%) should come from fat.

Wow, can this really be correct? I am not hungry on 1950. In fact sometimes, I have to force myself to eat to get to 1950. Since my weight loss has slowed down since going to 1950, I am consider going back to 1800. I wasn't hungry then either.

I just don't know what to do with this...

Should I go with 3000 for a couple weeks and just see what happens? I would hate to do it and just start gaining weight.
