Think I shot too high...

I took my last shot Saturday afternoon, and I shot it right about 2/3's towards the back of my right thigh if you look at it from the side and about 3-4 inches below my hip. I shot 2.5cc's into it there and it's been six days and the thing is swollen like a half grapefruit underneath it. I tend to swell up a lot after shots anyhow but this one's starting to worry me. I'm gonna wait it out a few more days before starting antibiotics, because I'm not wasting them on it if it's just irritated more than normal and not an abcess.

Two questions...

1. Can shooting too close to the tendon cause more irritation and swelling?

2. Will ibeprofrin affect anything with gains if I take that to keep the pain and swelling down a bit?

Can't answere those two but I'm on my 5th day with my grapefruit dead in the middle of my left ass cheek. Hard as hell to sit.

Personally I wouldn't venture too far away from the upper side quad. I tend to stick to the areas listed on here - http://www.spotinjections.com/thigh.htm

Ibuprofen when taken PWO can reduce protein synthesis, so don't go too overboard on dosing. See this extract of a study:-

Quote:
These results suggest that over-the-counter doses of both ibuprofen and acetaminophen suppress the protein synthesis response in skeletal muscle following eccentric resistance exercise. Thus, these two analgesics may work through a common mechanism to influence protein metabolism in skeletal muscle.

LOL- that's why I thought I found the magical shooting spot. Even swollen like a grapefruit, the only time it hurts is getting up after sitting in a cushy chair or the seats in my car cuz they're friggin tight and wrap right up around the outside of my thighs. It's not bad to walk on. Even walking up and down steps it's not bad. As long as it's just a little irritation and not a true abscess, I can stand this shit no problem. I just get paranoid when it's still this sore to the touch almost a whole week later. Not the first time I've had one stay that sore either. I'm taking your advice tomorrow TOM and injecting half of my gear tomorrow and the rest on Wednesday rather than the whole 2.5cc's in one shot and seeing how that makes things go better. The pain isn't terrible, it's been six days now with it about the same size/pain. I'm just getting used to having a sore leg every day just different legs for the last six weeks. I had some douchbag at work the other week saying that juicing is the pussy way out. He never went for two months with sore quads and glutes from injections.

That shit pisses me off so bad...the main reason they DON'T do it is because they are scared A) sides that are blown way out of proportion or B) a fear of injection itself.

Ignorant people say ignorant shit...But at the same time there are those guys that have been working out like 4 months and think they are ready to juice because they are too lazy to train for real...for them it IS the pussy way out...but for those of us who train seriously and want serious results over the long haul and try to do things as smart and safe as we can with every necessary precaution, gear is just a part of what we do...I, for one, am getting my ISSA certification next year and hope to step on stage within the next 2 to 3 years...so my work is cut out for me.

Luke is your total 2.5cc a week. Tell me exactly what your taking and how much please?

british dragon testabol testosterone cypionate 200mg/ml and shooting 2.5 cc's of that. Nothing else. Swabbed the area with alcohol used a new pin to draw and a new one to stick. Just feels swollen and sore as hell. Warm to the touch but I've had injection sites get warm and swollen before and it was just irritation for some reason.

the reason for shooting there was it wasn't a muscle used for stairs as much and it's not one that I sit directly on.

my thoughts exactly, i've never heard of anyone shooting on the back of their thigh???? wouldn't that be a hamstring shot?

personally i go in to the side of my quad, about 2/3rd of the way up, right bang on the side, its a lovely spot to hit, never had any problems shooting there, no aches or pains at all

After realizing it seems no matter where I shoot, I tend to get sore as hell for days, and having had the job I had, I was experimenting with finding a muscle to shoot into that didn't A: hinder me walking stairs( There's a ton at my job) or B: hindering me to sit(was at a desk a good portion too. And I had a 35 minute commute with a car that has bucket seats) I'm about to start a new post because I just lost my job Wednesday and I'm gonna be staying on unemployment for probably a few months (long story but I'm losing my license for 60 days anyhow and I live walking distance from my gym, have money set aside to cover living expenses and was looking to change career paths anyways) but will be experimenting with a slightly longer than expected cycle(originally was gonna be 8 weeks, and I'm already in for 6, but since I'm gonna have a light schedule with WAY more time to eat, sleep, and train better, I'm considering running 12 weeks)

Well it's exactly one week today and it's starting to hurt less. Swelling is down a bit but still pretty hard and now when you touch it, it's more of a dull pain instead of a sharp one. I'm not out of the woods yet, but I think I just had some irritation...again.
