Question:
Which are more effective for building the lats, pullups or pulldowns?
Another question taken from IM's articles....lets see your answers.
Both......the idea their is one movement that is best is the stuff of beginners.

BB rows, Yates rows are the best. Out of pullups and pulldowns I would say pullups would offer greater benefit.

I would say both have their place. If I had to pick one or the other it would be pullups. However, it is also a good idea to take a wide and close grip to train both the shoulder extension and adduction function of the lats.

For developing the V I would put pull ups first, closely followed by pull downs. Rows for thickness.
