Post morning cardio

Say I was to eat breakfast then do morning cardio, then do lifting session later on in the day. I take a shake w/ about 50g whey and 75g carbs after lifting. What should I drink or eat after cardio. If cutting 75g of simple carbs two times in a day seems not optimal but I could be wrong.
Should I take some whey and oatmeal.....whey and fruit.......whey, skim milk and oatmeal or fruit?

i know this applies to people who lift and do cardio back to back, but generally it is best to lift first and do cardio after.... i could be wrong with this though since you split them with several hours in between

is it possible to switch the two? i used to NEVER lift in the morning.... always went later on in the day, but after going a few times now im the exact opposite.... if i go at night i dont get the same lift

It doesn't matter what I do first either is possible. My question was about what to eat after the cardio...............

In my Opinion the answer is the same as when you have comleted lifting. It takes muscle to move the body to do cardio so you want to feed the muscle. Cardio also depletes gycogen stores just like in heavy lifting so in my opinion you need to refuel.
Take in some Protein and a fast sugar to help the protein get to the muscle and something to burn slow for later energy. It could be a simple MRP or a piece of fruit, a veggie, and some meat.

I guess I'll use oatmeal, whey, and malto/dextrose mix when I do cardio seperate from weights.

I think it depends alot more with the intensity of the cardio.

If it was HIIT....you'd treat it like a weight session and probably want a PWO shake follow by a PPWO meal.

if it was less intense than that, probably just a normal but balanced meal (protein, carbs and some fat).

different strokes....for different folks.

Or is it that, metabolically, you're "ramped up" and still need glycogen replenishment? How is the fat a negative in this instance?

No. I was talking about the PWO solid meal after your lower intensity cardio.

Post-PWO I suggest having some fats in your meal.

But to answer this - it depends as to how soon after you eat it - and what is in your stomach/intestines when you take in the whey PWO.

But usually - no, it will not delay the meal.
