Nice. I can't decide if 3 or 4 is more important...

You'll LOVE having your own place Shae... And Buddhism has some very solid teachings and wisdom however it is a Godless faith. Really not much purpose to a Godless faith... Sure it can lead to a better quality of life but where's the quality in death and life after death...

4. Finally break through that 700 LB bench plateau.

Um...no. Without getting too deep into the karmatic wheel and reincarnation, it is important to know that Buddism does not claim there is no God. The point is that simply living your life correctly will be it's own reward, in this life and the next, and the existence of God is only an intellectual debate. Since we can never truely know if there is a God, a life spent pondering his/her existence is somewhat wasted.

One of the most popular Buddhist writers is also a devout Christian, and many books have been written about the integration of the two faiths. A popular analogy is looking at Christian "heaven" as your destinatin of choice, and Buddhism as a road map that will lead you in the right direction. They are not mutually exclusive.

You're making the assumption, and it's an incorrect one, that any of us give a shit.

Cool When are you moving here? P and Ivonne and Monkey Man will be here by spring/early summer too.

Posted by: Dale Mabry

I am looking before fall, my buddy wants to do it soon. To be honest I may just do it without him, he is only 50/50 and the apts I saw for rent in AZ on craigslist were pretty good, cheaper than here. Now all I have to do is save a few bucks.

You mean there are places where you can tell what month it is by the weather, we have to use these Calendar things here in Hawaii, unless you work in the tourism field then you can tell by the types of people staying in the hotels. Spring is alot of college kids, summer alot of families, fall is the cheap couples from the midwest and winter alot of Canucks.

Posted by: Burner02

I think AZ has 3 seasons like we do here..more or less:
hot
cold
in-between

I know what Buddist believe. I also fully understand the concept behind it. And as I said there is wisdom and use in it's teachings. Most of which we could all benefit from. I never said otherwise.

However at the same time being Buddist alone won't lead to much. At least not much of any eternal value... As I said it is a Godless walk. There is no Almighty behind it. It's not the ultimate truth despite whatever you may believe.

I believe there is one truth... and one truth alone... That there is one God and that He sent His only Son to die as a perfect sacrifice for you and I. I also believe that Christ is the way, the Truth, and the Light....... And that no man can come to the Father but by Him.

With that said I also believe there will be MANY in heaven and honored by God whom never accepted Christ as their personal savior. For many will never even hear His name much less see His light. For these people I believe you will be judged according to the condition of their spiritual heart. According to manner they lived their life in. Did they consider others and do good with what they were given or serve themselves alone...

With that said those you have heard the word of the Lord. THE Truth....... and choose to follow another religion or walk of life won't meet that same judgement. By no means is this a double standard but quite fair. For those who have heard the word of Christ and rejected it have indeed rejected God. Even if they search for Him elsewhere. Like I said there is but ONE Truth.......

Yes I believe Buddhism is indeed a Godless faith in it's teachings alone. However if you seek God as well as follow some of it's teachings I see no problem with it. However there is certainly issues with it's believes as well. Too many to talk about here.

My point Shae. If you want to know God then you need to get to know Him personally. ONLY through His Son Jesus Christ is this possible. For some heaven may be reached in other manners however they will miss out of many of His benefits in the here and now. Benefits such as true hope. Not blind hope but a hope with One who is able to even exceed that hope. Benefits such as healing. Both of body, mind, spirit, and soul... Benefits such as peace. Not peace as some may know but a peace that passing all understanding... Benefits such as spiritual gifts, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. No life can even begin to compare with the life of a true Christian. No life... Please note two KEY words here. TRUE and CHRISTian...

If you for some reason choose to follow Buddas teachings (simply a man and a man who knew he was nothing but a man...) and you find yourself yet empty call on Christ. He will fill you up....... I ask Him now to accompany you as you read this to confirm He is the way....... God bless...

Superflex,

I am somewhat of a Buddhist, certainly if I had to pick a religion, Buddhism would be it, but as I am only young (17) I see no reason to rush out a declare myself one. So far my life is a search for truth in a variety of places, inculding the Bible.

I find your view that you have just posted irrational. Here is why.

" And as I said there is wisdom and use in it's teachings. Most of which we could all benefit from. I never said otherwise."

"However at the same time being Buddist alone won't lead to much. At least not much of any eternal value'

So you think that being a Buddhist leads to a better life, but you think that living a good life has not much eternal value?

" For these people I believe you will be judged according to the condition of their spiritual heart. According to manner they lived their life in. Did they consider others and do good with what they were given or serve themselves alone..."

Then this point, where you clearly say that it IS of eternal significance (ie you get into heaven based on) how you live your life.

"If you want to know God then you need to get to know Him personally. ONLY through His Son Jesus Christ is this possible"

Why would I want to know a being that doesn't exist, and if he does, I can never, due to logic, understand him?

"Benefits such as true hope. Not blind hope but a hope with One who is able to even exceed that hope. Benefits such as healing. Both of body, mind, spirit, and soul... Benefits such as peace."

What the hell does that mean? I mean really, is anything in that statement rational? Is there any logic there?

" No life can even begin to compare with the life of a true Christian. No life... Please note two KEY words here. TRUE and CHRISTian..."

.... Is that susposed to convince me? No fact, no truth in that statement.

"If you for some reason choose to follow Buddas teachings (simply a man and a man who knew he was nothing but a man...)"

That is why I follow his teachings. A man who realised eternal truths through REASON and LOGIC, and wishes us to do the same FOR OURSELVES. This is why Buddhism is for me, becuase it is merely the search for truth.

I do not need to rely on flawed concepts (God). I do not need to put my faith into a book that proposes events that contradict the laws of nature (the Bible), even though NEVER in our time do we see these events occur.

I do not need to adhere to rules and laws (10 commandments ect.), merely to compassion for all living beings.

I merely need a longing for truth, concentration and love.

APPARRANTLY YOU HAVE A HARD TIME SEPERATING THE TEMPERAL FROM THE ETERNAL. YES, IT CAN LEAD TO A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE. THUS,"And as I said there is wisdom and use in it's teachings. Most of which we could all benefit from. I never said otherwise." HOWEVER ONCE AGAIN LET ME EXPLAIN ONE LITTLE DETAIL TO YOU THAT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE... IT...IS...A...GODLESS...WAY...OF...LIFE...IN...AND ...OF...ITSELF... THEREFORE IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER HOW WELL YOU'VE FOLLOWED THE PATH OF BUDDA. HE IS NOT GOD. NOR IS HE A LINK TO THE LORD... SO WHAT VALUE IS THERE IN IT ETERNALLY IF LIKE YOUR SINFUL NEIGHBOR NEITHER OF YOU HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD? NONE. YOU'RE GOING TO BE HIS NEIGHBOR FOR A LOOOOOOOONG LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG TIME......

YES. BUT AT THIS POINT THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF HEARING ABOUT OR KNOWING CHRIST FOR WHO HE TRULY IS... YOU AND I HAVE THIS OPPORTUNITY! THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE... MY OUTLOOK IS STILL THE SAME AND VERY CLEAR.

"If you want to know God then you need to get to know Him personally. ONLY through His Son Jesus Christ is this possible"

Why would I want to know a being that doesn't exist, and if he does, I can never, due to logic, understand him?

THAT'S SOMETHING YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO LOOK FOR YOURSELF. EVEN IF I COULD EXPLAIN IT WITH PERFECT DETAIL IT WOULD ELUDE YOU. KNOCK AND IT WILL BE OPENED UNTO YOU.......

MAYBE FAITH IN GOD IS TOO BIG FOR SOME. I DON'T KNOW. MY RATIONAL REASONING IS THAT GOD IS THE REALEST OF THE REAL. HE CREATED THE REAL... IS THAT LOGICAL. TO ME IT'S ALL THAT MAKES ANY SENSE WHATSOEVER. WHY? BECAUSE I'VE KNOWN HIM. NOTHING, I SAY NOTHING, CAN PROVE TO ME OTHERWISE DUE TO THE THINGS I HAVE SEEN AND KNOWN ON A PERSONAL LEVEL. THAT IS MY REASONING... AND WHEN SPEAKING OF A TRUE CHRISTIANS BENEFITS IT HOLDS WATER FOR THE SOLE REASON THAT GOD TAKES PERSONAL CARE. HE WILL ASSIST YOU WHEN YOU ARE UNABLE TO MAKE IT OR CONTINUE. AND THE FACT THAT THROUGH HIS SON JESUS CHRIST(GOD IN THE FLESH) ALL THINGS ARE MADE POSSIBLE....... SO AS YOU SEE, THERE IS REASONING IN MY HEART FELT STATEMENTS.

" No life can even begin to compare with the life of a true Christian. No life... Please note two KEY words here. TRUE and CHRISTian..."

.... Is that susposed to convince me? No fact, no truth in that statement.

AGAIN, SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF. IT'S NOT SOMETHING YOU COULD EVEN BEGIN TO GRASP FROM THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN... THERE IS BUT ONE TRUTH.......

A SEARCH YES. THE TRUTH NO... I HOPE HE CAN GET YOU TO HEAVEN MY FRIEND. BEST WISHES. YOU CERTAINLY WON'T BE COMING BACK AROUND AS A ROOSTER OR AS THE NEXT BABE RUTH... IF INDEED SUCH A PLACE EXIST I'M NOT SURE WHAT PART A MAN HAS PLAYED IN IT'S CREATION . OR HOW HE GAINS RIGHTS TO ENTERING WITHOUT GODS ACCEPTANCE... BUT HEY, GOOD LUCK!

YOU SAY NO DON'T NEED TO FOLLOW TEACHINGS AND STANDARDS. I FIND THIS AMUSING. YOU'RE FOLLOWING BUDDA'S... MANY OF THE EVENTS WE HAVEN'T SEEN HAVE BEEN FOUND. BY SCIENTISTS NEVERTHELESS... ABOUT THE ONLY FLAWED CONCEPT I'M SEEING IS YOUR REASONING. BUT HET, IF THAT'S FOR YOU... LIKE MANY YOU WILL LOOK FOR SOME ALTERNATE ROUTE. GUESS WHAT. LIKE OTHERS YOU'LL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED WHEN YOUR LIFE IS BOILED DOWN... IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR THE TRUTH. LOOK AGAIN.......
Btw, I'd also like to get 20" guns this year!
