alright, so its obvious that these things aren't good whatsoever basically, but im curious as to just how bad they are.

im looking for something cheap and microwavable for college that i can eat to keep my calories where i need them to be - im guessing itd be safer to go with a lean cuisine or something of that sort but those are like five dollars a piece which would be impossible to afford.

so heres a link to the nutrional facts. good amount of carbs, good amount of protein...

well if you get lean pockets , they have aham an cheese one that is good, and has 25g protein and 44g carbs in each one. or like canned chili. hormel turkey chili. 2 servings per can each serving has 23g protein, 17g carbs, 3 g fat

thanks for sharing - they look relatively good, and the flour thats used doesn't look to bad either. i could be wrong though.

well when i was at a job corps service which is vocational training. i lived off of. protein powder, that chili i talked about, tune, canned chicken. beef jerky. and milk. plus 2 meals a day they served. well they served three, but one was usually just donuts and shit.

i'm in the same boat

I was 180 pounds last summer before going to college and since i had to get accustomed to living in a different environment, i lost about 10 pounds. It is really tough to eat healthy and to eat every 3 hours. There's always back to back classes that lasts 4-5 hours or the diner on campus won't have grilled chicken or beef for that day (it's different everyday). Most of the shit they serve is fried chicken, nachos, pizza, hotdogs .. fast food stuff.

But there are stores on campus in which i can go to and buy what i need in my room such as milk, oats, tuna, bread and so forth. Make sure you bring a small refridgerator. It started off rocky but now i am able to control it since i bring my protein shakes and certain food items that are somewhat healthy and can be cooked or eaten in a few minutes whenever i dont have time for full meal.

A year or two from now, i'll be in an apartment and will buy my own food so i'm looking forward to that.

thanks, shiz - thats what i was thinking, so i was looking for something relatively healthy and full of half decent carbs and protein that i could put in the wave and have it done in a minute or two.

from the looks of it, it doesn't look that bad..

shiz helped, but i'd like to bump this..

I prefer those Lean Pocket Ultras. They have half the calories and twice the protein of regular Lean Pockets. (200 calories, 24g protein). I only use them in a pinch.

why not take in a pre-made sandwich, pitta, MRP or protein bar?

if i have back to back lectures at uni then i'll make some tuna filled pitta's, and take some fruit in, or take an MRP in, if i'm in a rush i'll just grab a protein bar, works for me

thats definitly what i'll be doing for classes, but im talking moreso living in the dorm next year. my resources are so limited (fridge, micro) that there are only so many options which is why i thought something like this would be super easy to heat up and eat to get my daily calorie requirements.
