Hello Everyone. I leave for the AF 16 days. I was wondering, what is the quickest way to lose like 5 pounds. I am fine with my body fat and everything, but I would like to lose about 3-5 pounds before i go just to be good. Any suggestions on how to lose it. Also, Whats the quickest way to get my Run time down. I dropped my 1.5 mile from 11 to 10 minutes in about 1 month, any suggestions how i can get it down a lil more. Thanks a bunch

if you are fine with your body fat why do you think you need to lose 5 pounds, and where did you come up with that number?

just to let you know, the majority people will be fat and/or out of shape anyway, so don't stress it.

I'm an AF guy myself. Don't worry, you will lose plenty of weight in basic with the little time you have to eat. But if you are really adament about losing some prior, lets see....how is your diet and workouts?

I do about 30-40 minutes of Cardio, with a 25 pound weight vest on. I try and change the routine, Running one day, Bicycle the next, Elliptical another, Crosstrainer the other. Weightwise, I don't try and do weights that have no impact on me. with the vest on, I do pushups and dips mainly. I have no real set routine. One day upper body, next day lower body. Usually work out everyday, but Wednesday and Saturday are my rest days, but Ill still go to the gym, not do too much tho.

Dietwise, I try and watch what I eat, although right now I am in that phase "your leaving so might as well eat the food you love before you go" but that won't last till the day I leave, just for the next couple of days. Always eat breakfast, either cereal and milk, or eggwhites and turkey, Followed by a piece of fruit. Then in between, as of right now, a couple of hershey kisses, maybe like 3-4. Lunch usually a sandwich from subway 6 inch. in between I try for a small protein shake, something not too heavy. Dinner, whatever we have here. Then usually I would have a small snack about half an hour to an hour before i go to bed, either turkey slices or once in a blue moon, a couple more hershey kisses. I also try and drink a lot of water, but I find I drink like 2-3 liters a day, mainly when I work out,and maybe half a liter when i don't work out.

thats my routine in a Nutshell

I have that mentality, that I have to have a good first impression. I want to stand out, but I don't at the same time. Also, I can do about 53 pushups in one minute, any other ways to increase that besides just doing a lot more. And situps, Any advice on those. Thanks a bunch

you're joining the air force what difference does it make, thought you only needed a volley ball, suntan lotion, and a towell for basic? Ok Ok flip flops too!

Relax just messing with ya........lose 3-5lbs? Sit in a sauna, take some X lax, wrap your torso and thighs in plastic wrap and run....not that difficult. Apearance wise I don't think it'll make much of a difference though.

somebody was/is a wrestler.... anyways, i wouldnt suggest doing that because it isnt good for your body. If i were you, i woulndt worry at all. there isnt much you can do to prepare two weeks ahead of time other than figure out their workout program and start in on it now.

nope not healthy at all but with the time frame considered and it seeming to be a "must" thats what I came up with. I personally wouldnt worry about it especially just for the reason of trying make a good impression for basic training. You're (thread starter)a needle in a hay stack whether its 5lbs or 20lbs or no lbs lost your going to be looked at and treated like everybody else by the instructors.

Whatever you do, don't shave your head. Trust me on this. It's a bad idea.

yea, I would never do that. DOnt wear an AF shirt, or shaved head, just don't stand out. Other than that, I am ready.
