a cup is a set measurement for dry goods and liquids. But what you put in that cup will ultimately have different weights. A cup of sand will weigh more than a cup of feathers. You'll need to find out how many grams are in a cup of the ingredients you need. Here it tells you on the package how many grams are in each serving be it 1 c. or what not. Like 1/2 cup of oats is 41g, I believe.

Am I missing something here? Go to a department store and buy a cheap plastic set of measuring cups. That's about 1.19 USD.

Go to www.nutritiondata.com

Often it will have the measurement of the food in both grams and in cups (eg: If you look up oats, you will see that 1 cup = 81g).

Just note that the cups/tbs are AMERICAN measures - so 1 cup is measured to the 235ml mark and 1 tbs = 15 mls.

You could also look at some cooking sites on the internet - I am sure they will have measurements for common ingredients.

I use a postal scale to measure lots of stuff too. Quite helpful if you want to measure out meat or rice too.
