Hmmm, brown pasta makes me throw up, but white or green(spinach)pasta are amongst my favourite foods.

Brown rice is delicious, it just takes 30-35mins to cook (?)

I have no statistics or proof, but I would say brown rice has a lot more nutrients in it than pasta (of whatever type).

You are right Nick - Brown rice is a slower digestable complex carb. It has more nutrients especially the fiber and it is healthier. However, if your goals are not to be as ripped as you can and you are just looking for other healthy options then there is no reason why can't have the whole wheat pasta. Personally, I think whole grain and spelt are better options for pasta.

I think whole wheat pasta will work just fine in a diet plan. I wouldn't make any one carb source 50% of your intake or anything, but it certainly contains a decent amount of fiber. As well, even white pasta is actually low to moderate GI as long as you don't boil it for 20 minutes.

Lentil Pasta was pretty good too. P and i had it a few times. I haven't seen it at regular supermarkets, but Whole Foods carries it as do smaller health food stores in our area. It is Papadini High Protein Lentil Pasta by Adriennes.
