When Jake Plummer was asked about how he felt about facing a stifling Patriots defense, he literally shit his pants realizing that he would have to face the 3 time in 4 year Super Bowl winning champion New England Patriots.

I will save Foreman the trouble...True Story.

Posted by: bio-chem

i heard tom brady was so pissed off that his team wasnt getting the respect they were owed that he was going to boycott the game vs denver.....true story.

Posted by: Dale Mabry

That's alright, Flutie or Cassel could beat the Broncos, all they would have to put up is 3 points, that is all Denver is going to put up, even with a shitty defensive backfield.

Posted by: devildog88

Oh fellas, never under estimate the power of a Donkey!

Posted by: bio-chem

did you forget denver has already beaten the tom brady led patriots this season? i think denver scored like 28 easy points and then put in the reserves

Posted by: Tough Old Man

Denver will kill the patriots this weekend.

Different team, and they almost choked. Don't worry, they won't have the chance to choke this weekend, they will be down the whole game by at least 21 after the first half. McGinest, Seymour, Bruschi, Dillon, and Faulk all were out of that first game, all starters. I would be surprised if Dillon and Faulk DON'T combine for 40 points themselves and Seymour and McGinest tally any less than 15 combined sacks. I hope Plummer likes the ground, cuz that is where he will be spending most of the day, when not on the bench.

they almost choked? you mean denver? the score was 28-20 and the lead was never in question. they didnt almost choke. that last touchdown of the patriots was in garbage time when they had no shot of closing the gap. you are right it was a different team. dillon and faulk are not good rb's in this league. dillon used to be premier, now hes not. and faulk has been making a living on his older brothers name. denver will easily stop the patriots running game. and their passing game? the only passing game denver needs to worry about is in indy, not the patriots. denver has a strong secondary. even with the rookie corners we play oppposite champ bailey (who will shut down anyone the patriots throw at him) the secondary is solid. had darrent williams not gotten injured there was talk of him earning defensive rookie of year honors.

15-1 while facing a team for the second time in a year
10-0 streak in the playoffs
3 of the last 4 Super Bowls
A kicker who is money
Tom Brady is like 500-1 when the weather is below 40 degrees

Denver better not worry about Indy, they should be more concerned with their Golf games because that is the only sport they will be playing for the rest of the season after Saturday.

I have no doubt the Pat's will take down Denver. When they last met they were using many seconardies and Denver didn't make it out with a huge lead, that's for sure. Pat's are back, they are fierce and they are seeking the respect that they so long deserve..........

Posted by: Pepper

Out of the eight remaining playoffs teams, the Pats have the lowest ranked defense. So I doubt Plummer is sweating too much, especially since all he as to do is hand off and watch.

Posted by: Pepper

I don't get how in the world the Pats think they are getting no respect.

Yeah, that's just dumb.

As far as this game is concerned, if the Pats can stop the Denver run, it's going to be lights out on Denver's season. Denver won't win if they have to rely on Plummer's arm. Of course, stopping the Denver run is no small task.

And the Bucs had the highest...where are they again? Second place is the Bears, they might as well get their golf clubs all clean, they will be with Denver after this weekend.

I once stopped the Denver run after hammering a 5th of Mezcal and snorting the worm.

In all honesty, I would expect to see a bit of rust on all of the teams who were off last week, with the exception of Seattle. When you are playing a team with an offense like the Redskins, you can take half a season off and still win by like 30.

Personally, I thinks it's the lack of respect for the teams accomplishments. Think back last year when they talked about Pat's being a possible Dynasty. Everone kept saying No way, even if they win I would also here, "the only reason why the Pat's are winning is because the rest of teams suck"

Now speaking of this season. The Pat's started out bad....no kidding. Lot's of people jumped on the bandwagon saying "See, see they suck, knew they couldn't do it again, they just got lucky" Cept' I don't think many people realized how injured the Pat's were at the beginning. They did what they could and yeah the reason why they got AFC East IS because they sucked less. However, look at the team from the past month and you can see they are now a fully functional championship team again and they have shown that on the field to boot. Everyon keeps looking at the beginning of the season and saying the Pat's suck, how bout they start looking at where they are now.

So anyway, I can see why they think that

Posted by: Dale Mabry

Pats 150, Denver 2. Tom Brady feels bad and kneels down in the endzone with seconds to go in regulation.

Where's Dimaggio, all this trash talking is no fun without him around.

many secondaries? do you mean different coverages, such as cover 3, man, nickel, dime, cover 2?

kevin faulk isnt marshalls brother

whats his record vs denver? 1-3 or 1-4? i cant remember which

Posted by: Dale Mabry

You further prove my point, before this year he was 1-2, to even it out he will obviously go 1-1 this year. Since he is 0-1 so far...

so he is currently 1-3 against denver. how will winning this game even it out? next stop for tom brady.....more porn on the internet, and a lot of free time on his hands until the pro-bowl

Posted by: Dale Mabry

If they were 1-2 at the beginning of the season, and now they are 1-3, 1-4 is alot further off from 1-2 than 2-3, law of averages...Sort of. Plus, I have been watching the season this year, Broncos are dominated Saturday, and Plummer's white jersey gets a greenish/brown tint, and I am not talking from hitting the ground after being sacked, I am talking about shitting himself, as mentioned earlier.

last time they played plummer conected with rod smith for a 70 yard completion and ashley lelie for another 55 yarder. plummer threw for 3300 yrds this season with only 7 picks. rod smith made yet another pro-bowl and lelie can stretch any defense. especially the patchwork the pats call a secondary. if this comes down to who has a better passing game ill take denver vs the pats secondary then the pats vs the denver secondary

Posted by: Dale Mabry

You, my friend, are smoking crack. I wouldn't take Denver's Passing game against the team that took the runner-up in the Pop Warner tournament.

so what your saying is tom brady has lost so much against the broncos eventually he has to win one right.

i just heard they were going to bench tom brady without pay (like TO) because tom brady is such a crying bitch

their not related

really? then you know less about football then i thought. champ bailey is playing like a shutdown corner should. no one on the pats offense wants to get their clock rung by lynch and our linebackers are fast enough to cover any of the pats recievers

I would take Flutie over Plummer anyway.

pats defense should dominate tatum bell is only player they have to worry about cuz of his big play ability

Posted by: Dale Mabry

In all seriousness, Brady is a pussy, but he plays well. Well, he is a whiner at least.

I have heard that the Pats are not even going to put the offense on the field, they will leave in the defense and Bruschi will play quarterback, passing for well over 600 yds and 5 touchdowns, all QB keepers.

Posted by: bio-chem

so your most worried about a 2nd string rb? so they dont have to worry about a pro-bowl reciever, a pro-bowl qb and another reciever who is as good a deep threat as anyone in the league? denver has 3 rb that are better than anyone the pats have faced lately.

if this were the case i would be more worried about the pats

Posted by: Dale Mabry

You don't have to be worried for your team to get their ass handed to them.

BTW, the most telling statis that I will be watching this game at Hooters, the Pats never lose a game when I watch it at Hooters.

Posted by: JOHNYORK

the 3 backs suk its the oline and scheme freddie taylor is alot better than ne one of denvers backs....pats front 7 is too good too get outplayed by denvers line like i said tatum bell should be only player they worry about cuz if htye make a msitake he could be gone good luk wit the pressure on plummers shoulders btw i hate the pats theyll win tho

Posted by: bigss75

I think the Broncs are gonna win. Pats are overrated and didnt show nothing against a piss poor jag team last week.

you're pathetic. You remind me of what happened last year when the steelers beat the patriots pretty badly during the regular season. Come playoff time, all the haters were against the pats and kept referring back to the regular season game (which was played in october .. like week 7 i believe) and kept saying how they would dominate the patriots.

End Result? Pats 41 - Pitts 27

Just remember that game doesnt mean anything. The patriots were injury-riddled the whole first half of the season and had a lot of key starters on the injured reserve. Keep talking all you want, just don't come back posting excuses if your broncs get their asses wooped this weekend.

Overrated? Are you shitting me? A team that has won 3 superbowls in the last 4 years?

You people are ignorant. The only reason the patriots don't get respect is because they are not a flashy team. They play as a "team" and win as a "team". Too many teams have all these hot stars who are the main focal point of the team putting on a show and amazing stats all season and then choke bigtime in the playoffs. The patriots are more of a finesse team who just play to win regardless of HOW they play to win. All that matters is the big W and they always earn it.

hey jackass. stop getting so worked up over a little trash talk or get the hell out of the thread.

if they were doing so much better in the last half of the season why did they loose their last game to miami 28-26? and if it really is they were playing to loose for positioning in the playoffs then they have angered the football gods. its not about hating the patriots or disrespecting them. tom brady is such a little bitch for saying so. hell most people think they will beat the broncos. ha what a joke. mile high stadium really is home field advantage. with no running game the pats wont control the clock and denver wont let the pats offense hit its stride.

I apologize for getting angry, im a big fan so you know how it is in foxboro. They lost to miami because belichick took out all the starters after Brady threw for a touchdown in the 1st quarter. Weren't you watching the game? The pats were playing with 2nd and 3rd stringers and they still played well against a 1st string team. The QB played in his first game and he was a backup at usc and didnt do that bad. Also, doug flutie did the "dropkick" if u didnt notice .. so it shows they didnt care much for the game since they were already in the playoffs.

As for the broncos homefield advantage, yes it's true that its tough to play there but the pats always come to play regardless of the playing conditions. How about we just wait until game time and let the teams do the talking and play it out and then we'll come back and discuss the results.

I think everyone who watches football should be required to watch every Patriots game, so they have a baseline of perfection to compare to their less than perfect team.

I would also like to point out that it was their 3rd string QB playing the entire 2nd half.

Posted by: bio-chem

so they were playing for the loss. the Gods will be angry. and if 10-6 is a baseline of perfection non-playoff teams should feel real good right now.

Posted by: Dale Mabry

The Jags prolly aren't feeling to good right now, but the Broncos will find out Saturday.

Posted by: bio-chem

what its like to have a home playoff victory. yea i think they will find that out too.

Posted by: Dale Mabry

Why, they playing that Pop Warner team on Sunday?

Posted by: bio-chem

is that what division the pats were playing in? no wonder they were 5-1 in division play.

Posted by: Dale Mabry

You will see how they are in Super Bowl play on Saturday. 10-0, soon to be 13-0 and undisputed Super Bowl Champs.

Word is, NFL is thinking of cancelling the playoffs every year the Pat smake it from now on and just give them the Lombardi "Soon to be called Belichek" trophy.

So what the Pats weren't in the "best" division.

Miami went on to beat some pretty good teams towards the end, and Buffalo knocked SD out of the playoffs, in S.D.

The AFC East was the best division in football for a good few years...but they can't and won't be the best division in football every year.

miami, not buffalo

I think New England will win. I liked Denver this whole season. I love their crazy blitzing defense. I just think New England is such a good team. I am an Eagles fan BTW so I'm not partial to either team, division or conference.

do you realize record does not mean anything? Stats dont mean anything. Numbers dont mean anything. Anything can happen.

Who cares if they were 10-6. They still won the division. That's all that matters. The previous two years, they finished 14-2. Denver finished 11-5 and 10-6. So what? They got murdered by Indy in the playoffs but that's in the past .. this is now.

Overall, the patriots may be off and on all season but when it comes to the playoffs, they play their A game and are undefeatable.

Depends what your criteria is...If your criteria is which division contains the Super Bowl Champion, the AFC East will be the best until at least 2015.

no one really thinks they brought their a game vs the jags. every analyst will agree on that. and trying to get analysts to agree on anything is near impossible.

you expect miami to be that strong so quickly? give saban at least 2 more years to make them a solid playoff contender

Why bring up a new champ, when you alreday have one who is reigning supreme. It was obvious to every9one save for the 3 Broncos fans on teh planet I was referring to the 3 time in 4 year super bowl winning champion New England Patriots.
