what should be the percent ratio when doing a LOW carb diet?

i usually get 300-330g protein, 60-100g carbs, 90-120g fat.

my ratio is usually 60%(pro):15%(carbs):25%(fats)

is this good for getting ready for a show? I do this for 4 days then high carbs for 1 day.But i also can tell by the mirror if i need to add calories or take them away.

Currently I am at about 70% protein, 25% fat and 5% carbs. (that's a rough estimate) 5 days per week. On the weekends I up my carbs to about 30%.

Are you trying to get into ketosis?

Fat Cell and w8lifter seem to be the experts on the "low carb/high protein diets", so hopefully they will respond.

no im not trying to lose muscle, but it looks like you are. 5% carbs? thats nuts!!

like i said, i go by the mirror, if im dropping too much weight then i will up the carbs, but so far this past week i lost 3 pounds. Gopro said i should be losing 3 pounds every 6 days. so im on track

I am slowly losing body fat, but I have not lost any muscle, if anything I would say that I have gained some.

As far as my carbs, like I said that's a very rough estimate, but I only do that for 5 days, then for 2 days I "carb-up".

can you write down your total estimate in grams for protein, carbs and fats? on your low days and on you high days?

and how is that working for you?

Besides the basic (Flax Seed Oil, Nuts, Natty PB) what are you guys eating to keep your Fat cals up to 25 - 30% of your daily allowance. Thanks

Eggs, nuts, red meat - that's all I can think of right now!

I thought red-meat was high in Saturated fat. Is their a certain type that has more healthy fats (top round ?)

i take flaxseed oil, ex lean beef, steak, and it just adds up after 6 meals.

RD...you need to pick who you want to listen to! You're gathering information from several different sources and confusing yourself. Different dieting methods will work, but you have to choose one and stick w/ it, combining different methods does not equal the best of both worlds.

I want to do the low carbs for 3-5 days like i said at the beginning because that is what is working for me so far. Right now i go 4 days of low carbs (60-90g) and one day of high carbs (200-250g), i just do cardio 3x's a week for 30minutes. I'd like to follow this method until i stop loosing the fat. Can you help me on this type of diet?
