"Positive reports from Arizona: One thing that has encouraged the Red Sox heading into Spring Training is the positive reports on Curt Schilling and Keith Foulke, both of whom are training in Arizona.

"Tito talked to him in the last day or so. He was excited to go," Hoyer said of Schilling. "He's ready for Spring Training. He feels good and we think he'll definitely bounce back."

Likewise, the Red Sox are penciling Foulke in as the closer based on what they've heard.

"Our reports are good," Hoyer said. "Keith will be ready to go. He had a down year last year and we expect him to bounce back. With the depth that we have in our bullpen, it becomes a pretty exciting proposition putting those guys together."

Be honest Red Sox fans...do you really think they will be dominate again?

Ok i'll post my thoughts then...i think Foulke will be back and be pretty good. But Schilling's best years are 100% behind him now.

The only thing that everyone knows for sure is that noone knows how they'll do.....just like no one knows how anyone will do.

We could post opinion after opinion of how we think they'll do great this year, or that they're washed up, and it doesn't really matter.

We'll find out in a few months for sure, though

the red sox with or without this potential crisp deal should be predicted to win the al east. there is far more talent in boston than there is in both toronto and new york.

This season is going to be unpredictable...i wouldnt make any predictions just yet...
I mean in 2004 everyone said that the Yankees were the team to beat...last year the Red Sox wer going to repeat and then Baltimore was the team to beat...lets just see what the 2006 season brings us...

In the majors or the minor league? The Blue Jays did a good job this of seaon, in fact they had a better off season than both BOS. and NY.

if by having four players for three spots (3b-1b-dh), and paying mass amounts to sign an overrated reliever, an often-injured starting pitcher, and trading away corie koskie, then by all means they had a better offseason than the red sox.

just because the red sox moves have been "under the radar" type moves, doesn't mean they've had a bad offseason. they won 96 games last year, and i believe they can put up a similar number to that with the roster they have now, no less whether crisp is acquired.
