I've recently been fine-tuning my diet and bought oats...

What i do is follow as directed and use 3/4 cup oats and 1/2 cup water, and stick it in the microwave til it boils...

It's a little... "bland", any body make there oats different or add anything for a little flavor? how do you eat them?

Usually I just blend them and drink them, but when I do eat them I either add splenda, natural peanut butter, or whey protein.

Usually i throw oats + milk + sweetener(equal) inside a bowl. Sorta like frosties.

Here's what I do. Combine:

1/6 cup old fashioned rolled oats
1/6 cup steel-cut oats
1/6 cup oat bran
1/3 cup wheat bran
1 tspn oat fiber
1 tbspn peanut butter
optional: 1/2 scoop unflavored protein powder

mix it up. add hot water.

regarding taste: everything besides the PB is "bland"--so it tastes like i'm eating a lot of PB.

regarding satiety: this is so incredibly filling (probably due to all the fiber), i rarely want to eat anything more for the following 3 hours.

LOL... How could you not like oats!

And you can add anything:
Cinnamon/spices such as nutmeg or ginger
Vanilla essence/extract
Cottage cheese
Whey/protein powder
Fresh berries/fruits
Fat-free/sugar-free natural yoghurts
Stevia (some people use splenda)
Nut butters/nuts
Sugar free jams/jell(o) or jelly
Sugar Free syrups (eg: davinci syrups)
Dried fruits
sugar-free hot chocolate mix/cocoa
Fat-free/sugar free pudding mix

You can also use it to make protein pancakes, protein slices/bars etc...

Personally, I usually have a mix of oats, oat bran, banana, cottage cheese and cinnamon.
