train hard and eat clean. check out the nutrition forum. some people also advocate either bulking or cutting rather trying to do both at once although if your new to training you'll probably notice improvement in your physique quite quickly. im no expert sorry but theres plenty of good info on these boards so do your reading then ask questions if theres anything your not sure on.

best of luck

Newbie's to training, after a few months (so dont give up!) not only increase in strength and muscle size but also burn fat.

This effect diminishes with time and progress. Eat a lot but clean food (not junk) and check out the training plans and suggestions in this forum.

There's some very good routines posted here.

Oh, lastly, I think its good to keep a journal of weight/bf% and progress.

Run your ass off. Thats and a very strict diet is the only way im able to loose the fat. I did moderate cardio and weights with a slightly restricted diet and made some decent gains in strengh and weight loss over 6 mos, but it was slow going. My new plan of focusing on cardio is much more effective to slim down, and I havent lost a huge amount of strength. Im definitley getting weaker but its a very slow change.
