Floor presses should be harder than normal bench, correct?

Posted by: LexusGS

Hell yeah. I floor press a good 40lbs less then i normal bench.

Hmmmm.... I've been stuck at 250 for bench the last 2 weeks (failing when I try 255) for my ME exercise. Tonight I did floor presses for my ME exercise and did 255.

mmm thats qiute the delema maybe it was all mental

It depends on your strengths. If you have a strong lockout and poor explosiveness from the bottom then your floor press will be more.

That makes sense. I usually don't have lockout trouble. My trouble is always off the chest.

Then it's not the triceps (and hence the floor presses aren't going to help you) that's the problem, it's the lats.

Time for some suspended bench pressing it sounds like to me! I have yet to try floor pressing. I will have to give it a go.

Benches with a 2 second puase,Db benches with parellel grip and a 5 second pause.lots of lat work

or you might need a break

One thing to consider is no stretch reflex with the movement, plus you naturally are going to avoid beating the crap out of your elbows by slamming them quickly.

I'm really trying to work lats more. More volume, less intensity.

The only problem is I have nowhere to do the suspended benching unless I just hold it on my chest for a few seconds.
