What is the minimal number of calories a day needed when wanting to trim fat and still get all the nutrients that the body needs? I have been taking in around 1100 a day for a few weeks and the fat is going away quickly, but I have been more tired lately and seem a lot weaker. Should I be taking in more or stay at the same until I reach my desired results? Sorry if this has been asked before,, I must have missed it. Thanks in advance!

10 cals per pound of bodyweight is the absolute lowest for any given amount of time. You could go lower for one day and then the next day eat at maintenance and cycle - sort of like carb cycling.

You should not go lower than that or your body will go into starvation mode and slow down your metabolism. When you slow down your metabolism you don't burn fat, you burn muscle

I find if i increase my amino intake it makes a large difference in reducing fatigue on a low cal diet. I take my supp. spread out every 3-4 hours and it really helps. Still 1100 is way to low.im getting about 1200 from food and another 4-500 from whey. Thats about as low as i can go without drastic effects to my workouts.

When I did one show I dropped down to 1200 cal a day...and I was 205.....all that happend was is that I burned off 10lbs of muscle and 0 fat.....a really bad idea that I will never do again.

if you go to muscletech.com and then look for the "Thermogain" link, they have a really cool nutrition calculator that takes into account activity level, ht/wt, bf, etc. You should try it

The only statment I have to make about dieting and calorie intake.....

Don't shoot for the minimal amount of calories you can intake when dieting. Always try to eat as much as you can while still moving in the direction toward your goals.
