Cows eat it. Sometimes it looks like it would make a tasty salad. What are peoples opinions on grass?

I have always marveled at how horses and bulls develop muscles just by eating grass and hay.

thats why bull nuts are such a great supplement becuase they are so full of potent hormones, which explains why they dont need protein

I just came back from the gym and i notice at the juice bar they were selling wheatgrass. Anybody know of this stuff? I googled it and all i found was it suppose to be the next greatest thing. But most of the sites were selling the stuff as capsules so i dont really know if i can believe thier claims. Anybody know of this stuff?

I think there is bactaria in the stomach that eats the grass then the animal in turn digests the bactaria. I heard of this a long time ago but i'm not sure if its fact.

True Story,

actually their 4 stomachs have something to do with this. They eat a bunch of grass, which is broken down by bacteria. These bacteria mutiply rapidly, and when they reach the 4th stomach, the bacteria are digested and absorbed as protien, so this is where the protien comes from when eating grass.

T'is true for ruminant (like cows and sheep)... But your horses are monogastrics (one stomach) - they just have big-ol' caecums to try to digest everything instead (same as rabbits... and, interestingly, kangaroos too...)...

A good theory.... Except you don't have a big-arse caecum to digest the cellulose.
