I'm currently cutting at 800 calories below maintnence and will start to bulk at +500 cals in a couple weeks. I was wondering if there is anything i need to do for the transition between the two phases. Should i gradually up my calories? Is there any other helpful tips i need to do to prevent putting a chunk of fat back on immediately?

Setting specific 'calorie figures' is not really the best idea.

You should gradually increase your cals to your 'theoretical maintainence' then stay there for 2 weeks to allow your body to come back up to speed again... Then instead of just jumping up another 500, increase calories by 10% and then stay at that level for 2-3 weeks - if you are not getting results, do the same thing (increase by 10% and wait).

Repeat until you get what you want.

So would it be bad to go strait from bulk to cut?
