Trying to find what i can do at school that will be cheap and effective for weight gaining...

Food / Cals / F / C / P
2 Cu Oats / 600 / 12 / 108 / 20
Whey / 120 / 1 / 1 / 24
EVOO / 120 / 14 / 0 / 0
Honey / 120 / 0 / 34 / 0

All together... that's ~960 cals, 27g fat, 143g carbs, 44g protein.

I do that around 10ish at night.. i'm up til at 12:30-1:30am anyway at school. This is all in addition to everything else I get to eat... so I am jsut wondering how "ok" this meal is. The only thing I could think of bad was the honey... but I CANNOT handle 2cu oats w/o the honey. How much will that honey affect my sugar/insulin when combined with all that fat and complex carbs?

Opinions?

Drew

Cut back on carbs that late, maybe half the amount

only count protein from whole sources, protein powder, meat, dairy. Also use a casein or slow digesting protein powder at bed time

personally, this should be the first thing to eat in the morning.

I would drop the carbs down to 75-100 at most, plus drop the fat down to 15-20.

I disagree; look at his stats. The carbs are right up there (proportionately) with his size and weight. That much isnt that bad. It's the timiing that concerns me. This would be a good a PWO drink sans the fat.

960 cals in one meal for a guy his size ( 960x6= 5760) is a bit much...I would rather see him eat 6 meals a day at 650-700 cal.....not just one huge meal before bed.

Other than I would remove 1 C. of the oats. I hope you are eating green veggies and EFA's as well.
