I was listening to the radio today and some guy was ranting on and on how it is like a miracle oil. He claimed it decreased the level of AIDs virus in some guy so low that it was no longer detectable. Alledgedly he was stricken with it and had not long to live. Sounds a bit strange to me. He was basically saying - coconut oil -> good, soy oil ->bad

What are your thoughts an opinions on it?

MCT's are known to have benefits however decreasing the level of the AIDS virus sounds a bit extreme to me.

IMO MCT's don't have any benefit that you can't get from your essential fatty acids instead which are highly proven to be therapeutic.

hmmm ok. thank you.
this guy was also talking about how hydroginated oils from soy beans are horrible and the American Soy Bean Assc. is trying to brainwash America, something political like that.

It depends on how it is consumed. Now if Soybean oil is listed as partially hydrogenated then hell yeah - it's evil. Soybean oil is sold as vegetable oil but not all vegetable oil is soy bean oil. Personally I find that it is has no health value at all and if you need oil to cook with stick with Olive Oil.
