they say red wine is someone good for your heart... I drink about 8 ounces of red wine everynight to help me chill out and go to sleep.. am I turning into an alcholic or am I ok??

8 oz is a bit much. I would probably stick to about 120ml/4 oz per day at the most.
But if you are wanting to lose fat then alcohol is not really going to be a good idea.

3 glasses of 150mls of red wine (= in total about 15 oz) WITH A MEAL, will not destroy you. That is not being an alcoholic.

Depends on what you qualify as 'drinking too much'.
In Australia a standard drink of wine is 120ml... And 'safe' drinking is classified as:
For females - 2 standard drinks a night with at least 2 alcohol free days a week
For males - 4 standard drinks a night with at least 2 free alcohol days a week
But even if it is different in other areas, I would still not recommend nearly half a bottle of wine a night (450 ml - or 3 x 150ml drinks).
