When was the last time you guys conquered a personal goal?

Here it is! None of you could really give a shit less, but I've been stuck at a 300lb bench for, well, pretty much forever! I have never got that weight up. I could do 2 sets of 275@5 reps, but never 300!
Last night I tried it, and not only got it, but did it for 4 reps! I was obviously pumped, so I tried 315 and got it twice! My form was nice and tight, and the reps were pretty much perfect! No idea what got into me, but I was happy as hell that I blew past my personal goal!

Nice going! Keep it up, man! It always pumps me up when i acheive something i never thought i could.

Atm, personal goals are put on 1.5 stone of weight by next year, and more short term (next couple of months) increase my bench from 132lbs to 150lbs over 4 reps.

And get my squat form right 100% of the time, i hate squats because for some reason i've never been able to get them right, but i know i need to. Last night wasnt too bad, i managed 100lbs for 10 reps without pussying out or losing form *that* badly, so thats alright :P.

I feel it today though. Ouch.

How about you? Any other goals now that youve conquered the elusive 300 bench?

Now that 300 is finally out of the way, I'm moving on to 350! It will definately take some serious work, but as long as the shoulder holds up, I should be good to go!
I know what you mean about squats, I did them Tuesday, and my legs still hurt like hell. It's a great feeling when your eyes water when you sit down on the toilet, isn't it?!?!?

My first goal when I started training 6 months ago (was 5"10, 130-135 and 10% BF or so), was to put on like 30 pounds. Now I'm 165 and even leaner than when I started. Now I gotta set my sights on another goal... short term it will probably be to train myself to go ATG on my squats from now on.

Thanks guys. We'll see what happen next!

Good luck with your own goals and challenges!!!!

When i started lifting in January i was at about 162 lbs. standing 5' 11". My goal was to bulk up to 180lbs. by May or June and then start concentrationg on ripping. As of yesterday i'm at 174 lbs. So i guess i'm about half way toward my goal. Once i reach that goal i'm gonna start a new one, then so on...

My last big goal that I achieved was a set of 225x10 for squats. That was about 2 months ago though. I got it the first time I tried. If I didn't I would have been very dissapointed. I was thinking about it all week prior to doing it.

Good going!!!

I can't remember the details, but at some Olympic event there was a barrier that no one could pass on the C&J (I think). It may have been 300kg or some such. So one of the guys trainers gets the announcer to lie about the weight. He calls out 302kg as 300kg. The lifter goes out and throws it up. After it comes out that this guys lifted over 300kg everyone else starts to do it as well. (God, I love these kind of stories)

So, maybe you had some sort of mental barrier that you just destroyed.

Congratulations!

Yeah, mental barriers are funny like that. I've had issues like that before, but sometimes you just have days where nothing can stop you. Good job.

Just take this goal and use it to push yourself though the next one. If you can do 300, surely you can do 350! 100 to 150 isnt much of a strain after all.

And i hear you on the squats. The last time i did them i couldnt sit down in a chair without involuntarily swearing for about 3 days :P.

Today isnt so bad, i must be improving!
