So thats the basis of my ponderment. If you do rows, 2 exercises at least, would there be a NEED for additional post. deltoid work? If not on a push day, then a pull, etc... Answering a question with a question is for politicians. |

The reason I usually tell people that is because they are putting in additional work for their anterior deltoids and/or doing an inordinate amount of pressing compared to pulling. Also, most people have been doing imbalanced routines like this for so long that they should really be staggering their routines in the direction of their back muscles to help pull things back into balance. On top of that, because the posterior deltoid is an external rotator, and most people do everything internally rotated and have stronger internal rotators, I feel posterior delt work is a good way to help pull things back into balance in that respect as well. The rotator cuff muscles involved in external rotation also deserve some love in my opinion.
