is a restaurant order of Lettuce cups (filled with marinated chicken, scallions, water chestnuts, and black bean-hoisin sauce) a good sourse of protein and fat? is it as healthy as reg chicken?

I would eat it. Sounds good except for the amount of sodium they could possible add to the chicken....but thats alright, it's not like your eating it every meal.

hoisin sauce is typically loaded with sugar. If you stay away from that everything else looks good so long as they dont cook this with a ton of oil and/or soy sauce.

Sounds ok to me for a cheat.. but it is not going to be as 'healthy' for you as plain chicken - and if you are trying to be accurate with your diet then you best not rely on it as a source of anything.

This is because the quality depends on what type of chicken they use in it (breast? leg?), the amount of source they use, and what else they add that you are not aware of (may have oil or other things in it)...

If you make them on your own - yes 'cuz you know what's in it (as long as you skip the unhealty stuff). If you order it from a restaurant - no - 'cuz you don't really know what they put in it (what kind of minced chicken, amount of oil, butter, say sauce, etc, etc.

I make this all the time with 100% ground chicken breast, scallions, mushrooms, water chestnuts, a little light soy sauce, a little garlic chili paste, minced garlic and a little olive oil.
