shake:

1 scoop whey
1/2 cup of oats (1 serving)
4oz water/4oz low fat milk
5g glutamin
2 tablespoons whole flax seed
1 banana

Yeah, its good. Only thing i suggest is that you drink more milk and maybe eliminate the banana. More protein, and slower digesting carbs.

oats and oatmeal type foods actually work as a nemisis to whey

Oats and whey are fine together.
It looks ok but I would try and cram more food if trying to gain weight.

Looks like a fine breakfast to me. I don't know what your goals are but compared to most people's, that is a good breakfast.

make sure you grind them, if you don't they'll likely just pass through and you'll reap little benefit

Oh okay, I thought you were buying whole seeds which you can get.

By grind I meant like put the seed in a coffee grinder to release the oils and make them digestible. It sounds like you get it pre-ground or flaxmeal, so you're good to go.

how long do you wait after your breakfast to workout?

only reason i said that was thinking you worked out right after breakfast and the whole reason to take whey is for its speed of absorption...food high in fiber will only slow things down...

I asked this question a while back-just do this never mind about the fiber in oatmeal. It takes 45 minutes for this entire meal to be digested:
1/2 cup oats (OF)
1 scoop whey
1/2 cup blueberries or strawberries (frozen is better for storage reasons)
add water
some splenda
if you hit the creatine, do it asap upon waking.

oh i train in the afternoon after school
around 4?

Posted by: dontsurfonmytur

so if i trainined in the morning, i would take out the oats?

Posted by: juggernaut

NO! you leave in the oats.
On the other hand, if you workout in the afternoon, I'd do like an apple, a whey drink and maybe a little flax.
